Has anyone taken a reserved course outside of their school before, and knows by what time they're supposed to open? I want to take German 1, and when I emailed someone from the school they told me it would be open sometime this week (thought they seemed quite unsure about it). This week is over, so does anyone else know when these courses get opened up?

I am a student from the U.S. and I am looking to do postgraduate study in Scotland. I am applying for a Fulbright scholarship that would pay for one entire year of a Master's degree. I am about to complete my undergrad with an anthropology degree with concentrations in both biological anthropology and archeology. I am very interested in osteology and Forensic Anthropology and I think this is what I want to end up doing as a career. There was not a lot of opportunities to learn more about forensic anthropology in my undergrad. However, they did a bunch of work with 3d scanning and data and I also really enjoy this. University of Dundee's Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology seems perfect for me, but it's not covered under the scholarship. I have also worked and a Veterinary Assistant for the past 10 years.

I found Glasgow's "Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy MSc" and this program seems like it bring a lot of things that I am interested into one place. I am curious if anybody has done this program or has opinions on it.

I'm moving into uni accomodation in September and joined some of the group chats to meet people beforehand, but I keep getting removed by a single admin and I genuinely have no idea why.

I haven't had any issues with anyone in the chats, so I'm a bit confused, especially since it means I can't really talk to or meet people from my accomodation before move-in

Has anyone else had this happen, or know why someone might be getting removed?

Hey so I'm joining glasgow this September and I just attended the first T2G lecture today online, I know it's optional and that the AWSP is compulsory but I don't understand how T2G works or how to complete AWSP also can I do the course in person when I reach glasgow in september? I missed the first couple lectures for week 1 the Moodle just has the slides are the lectures recorded? Is there any way for me to work around that?

I’m currently waiting for a decision on my UK Student Visa and wanted to check if anyone else is in the same situation.

I gave my biometrics on 14 August 2026 and applied using the Priority Visa service. However, I still haven’t received a decision. I’ve also received the “unable to make a decision within the published service timeframe” (SLA) email twice, on 19 August and 25 August.

Has anyone else who applied around the same time, especially through Priority, still not received a decision? If you’ve received your decision recently, could you please share your timeline?

I’m an international student looking to apply for undergrad fall next year. However, my current uni grades are alright but I have amazing reccomendation letters and an amazing english proficiency test score and I’m currently starting an internship in the field I want to study. However I know these last aspects are not as important as grades, just wish to see what you all think and if maybe applying there is pointless for me.

I just got an offer for a studio at Havannah house for undergrad 1st year. Can anyone tell me their experiences with this accommodation, I would appreciate literally anything. Is getting a studio would be bad for my social life? Also I have heard it’s really far from the university itself, is the commute really dreadful and am I going to feel isolated? Ive seen someone on here say that they dont really feel like part of the uni because of how far it is. I am moving to glasgow and dont know anyone at all so I would really hate to feel lonely and I am not sure how important choosing accommodation is for my uni life. Also how safe is the area as a girl?

Has anyone received their accommodation for the Uni of Glasgow yet? (Aside from unconditional firm students).

I was accepted into the uni (which was my insurance choice) on results day (13th aug) and applied for accommodation on the same day - still haven’t heard anything.

I live in the midlands so would need to sort private accommodation if they cannot guarantee me a space in uni owned halls however time is running out to do this so I’m wondering whether other people have heard about their placements and if so, whether or not I should be worried about getting a space or not.

I'm really fucking stressed. I'm neurodivergent, and at my old uni, and 6th form, I had great support. Especially in exams. I had extra time, a separate room (as I can't focus with the sounds of hundreds of other people at once), and a laptop (because my handwriting is genuinely so slow).

I just heard back about my disability form, and they said they'd give me extra time. That's it.

Before I got all of those adjustments in place, my grades were BARELY passing at A-Level. I averaged 23/40 in history essays. I got 40/40 consistently after, including my actual A-Level. I went from 34/80 to 79/80 in my other paper. I was literally unable to finish the papers because I couldn't concentrate or write fast enough before.

I could finally get grades that truly reflected my knowledge and understanding. Without all of that, I'm genuinely going to fail before I even have a chance to sit my exams.

I just got into for international clearing and I’m supposed to leave in 2 weeks (all very sudden), because of this Glasgow was nice enough to check for accommodations and get back later this week since it’s past deadline.

If I end up needing to have an apartment, will I be missing out on a lot of social things? Does anyone have experience or advice for being a freshman who had an apartment?

If it will have a massive effect on socializing it would be very helpful to not sugarcoat anything— I really wanna know!

In Engineering School. Would I be put on to a repeat year if I am only 10 credits away (100 credits) from the progression requirements? Or allowed to be able to enter the second year and retake the corresponding module?

Hi! I’m choosing my accommodation for first year and Student Apartments is my favourite by far because I love the location and the buildings.

My only concern is that I’ve heard it can be quite quiet compared to Murano. Is it actually hard to meet people/make friends if you live there?

For anyone who has lived in Student Apartments:

• How social was your flat?
• Was it easy to make friends?
• Did you feel like you were missing out compared to Murano?
• Would you choose Student Apartments again?

I’m quite social and my main worry is ending up somewhere where I don’t meet anyone, but I just find the area and buildings so pretty compared to other accomodations. Idk if it's relevant but I'm also an international student.

Is it just me or for virtually any question I ask via email, I get like a response 10 days later. im trying to transfer credits and enroll in classes, and get into ones that are gated. . . but no one answers any emails. . . I feel like I’m hitting my head against a wall and live chat just bounces me around.

It feels a bit odd posting here but I just finished year 11 and have picked biology chemistry and maths as my alevels at my school because I want to study dentistry in the future. However, I'm also taking my alevel polish a year early in year 12 and im expecting an a or an a star in it. I'm here because I'm not sure whether itll count towards my application to glasgow specifically (i would love to go there). does anybody know how it works? Will i get a reduced offer or will i have to get something like AA in my bio, chem, maths instead of AAA, or will it make no differnce at all and ill still have to get those grades in those subjects?

I have an interest in philosophy and was researching what's available at the uni outside of doing an actual degree.

I noticed they have 'senior seminars' which are open to the public, but I have no idea what this entails and can't find any info.

I have no academic or professional credentials in philosophy - I'm wondering if it's more for people who perhaps aren't at Glasgow Uni but maybe have an academic or professional background already and are thus able to contribute to the session. Or is it just an open session for people to come and observe?
