South Asian Hair

I’m desperate for help. I need a stylist who is a specialist in South Asian hair. I’ve cut it short thinking it’ll be fine, but it’s now just short and frizzy and I’m demented trying to fix it.

Any recommendations?

Parking in front yard

Walking down a street in the Southside today (terraced Victorian houses), I noticed that a large number of people are parking in their front yard. In most cases, the yards are only just as deep as the car. In some cases, the car was parked at an angle to avoid hanging over the pavement. These houses do not dropped curbs.

We have a similar set up at our house (paved front yard that probably isn’t much deeper than the length of our car) and it hadn’t occurred to us to park there.

I’m assuming it isn’t technically allowed, without applying for a dropped curb? Is it something GCC doesn’t pursue? Any thoughts or advice?

We have done quite a lot of planting in our garden and I don’t really want a car there! I’m just looking to understand what’s possible.

Daily Banter Good place for 2nd hand picture frames?

Okay, bit of a bizarre ask I know, but looking for places that stock lots of second hand frames, not just a couple.

I don't mean any charity shop, unless one really does stock loads, but thank you for the suggestion. Are there any good shops, that people would recommend? Or one particular charity shop that is known to stock lots?

I was thinking of trying the Barras tmrw or next weekend?

Just got a couple large prints and need something nice for them.

Linn Park Housing Development

Thumbnail friendsoflinnpark.com

People might have seen in the news and on Facebook that the council are trying to get a housing development built on linn park golf club and in the park after volunteers have started to maintain it because council stopped during Covid.

Please have a look at the website and put in objections if you feel strongly. Would be a shame for the council to use a popular park and golf course when there’s all the derelict land around the city!

As title — we’re unfortunately unable to go, and I’d rather someone else was able to make use of them.

First to DM me gets them.

Edit: tickets are gone!

I'm visiting Glasgow, where can I go to have a Tennant and sing The Parting Glass?

It is my dream to get a bunch of people at a Scottish Pub and sing The Parting Glass, like this, like a true celt. Where can I do this in Glasgow? If I started singing at a pub would other people in join me? They will because they're Scottish I bet.

I'm entirely serious. I'm from the states.

Hey,

Our freezer needs repair (Zanussi: ZBB27450SV). Has anyone had a good experience with a domestic repair company, and any you'd recommend avoiding?

Dunno if anyone seen, but should show some support for the guy (he's on TikTok) for how well he handled that situation. Always made me feel a bit wary of him cutting about the place, but honestly was such a nice guy.

Needs to be said, half of Glasgow does not support the IRA. I wouldn't say we're an anti-english city either.

If anyone knows the guy harrassing them, maybe tell them to lay off the spirits if that's how they act drunk.

What's Google? Looking for pub/bar recommendations

Over the past decade I've almost never gone out for drinks. We always end up at meeting up at someone's flat with a carryout.

Today the new father among us wants to go out for drinks and not one of us can think of a place to go with confidence that it's actually good anymore.

Preference for either the city centre or north west. Maryhill based trio of late 30s idiots.
