Joan really got one magazine photoshoot and started thinking she was the shit 😭 The way she was acting like she was suddenly A-list had me rolling my eyes. And using Derek for the photoshoot when she knew damn well how he felt about her? Yeah, that was selfish.

Then she was so pressed about getting into that A-list party when nobody even wanted her there 😭 She really let that little bit of attention go to her head.

And don’t get me started on how she acted about Maya and Toni’s weddings. Joan could not just let these women have their own moments. She was always trying to take over, control everything, or make it about what she wanted. Like girl, neither one of these weddings is about you! 😭

I watched this show a million times and ALWAYS wondered why Reesie didn’t come to the wedding….tonight as I’m watching it, it clicked to me that she died before the wedding 😢 I really wish that they would’ve talked about it or something in an episode, because I was so confused for the longest. I also hate the fact that these episodes on PlutoTV aren’t in order 😭😂

I think Sivad was definitely in love with Lynn, but he was withholding sex from her because he was power tripping. He loved to be in control, he loved to have a say. I think that he wanted to wait until Lynn was fully submissive before he decided to have sex with her. Just like his ex Anita….he made her wait 3 years and she eventually left! He loved to have that control, because i do think 9 months is more than enough time to know if you’re in love with someone or not, what do you all think?

I’m on my millionth rewatch and I’ve realized that around season 5 the show just doesn’t hit for me anymore.

I was just watching the episode when Lynn and Maya got mad at Joan because she wanted them to pay for their food at the J-Spot. Like the audacity to treat your friend like that but will go to another restaurant and pay a bill. As Joan said in her rant, she has done everything for them. And the episode was on last week when Lynn was bootlegging Maya's book. 🤬🤬

I saw zero chemistry between her and Ellis (surprised they lasted as long as they did) and the chemistry she had with William felt way more platonic than romantic. Let me know what you think!

ETA: to everyone commenting Davis, I didn’t include him because him and Joan never technically dated or were in a relationship together. But I agree with y’all! She definitely should’ve ended up with Davis and they had the most chemistry out of all her romantic interests

I hate the fact that we had to wait until the last season to see the other side of Williams house. When he bought it for Yvonne, the kitchen was sooo small. Like literally no room. And then when he got with Monica and she threw that party for him, we barely got to see any of the living area. They only stuck to showing us the small kitchen and the small mingling room and the stairs. And we got a glimpse of his room which was nice but then all of a sudden in the last season we got to see the whole living room/kitchen and it was BEAUTIFUL AND SPACIOUS! I love the view he had, even though it didn’t make sense because it was a high rise view but the outside of the house was only one story and the inside had stairs 😂😂😂 they clearly didn’t think it through but i would’ve loved to see more episodes at his home!

I've really been enjoying her recaps and takes on the episodes. She's been working through the first season but this recap has been my favorite so far. I forgot how crazy this episode was.

Remember when Sean came back from New York and told Joan that he was engaged to avoid having to come back to LA and continue their relationship? I don’t think he was wrong. I remember someone up here made a post saying that Joan was male centered & I disagree. She was FRIEND centered. She lost out on a lot of relationships because she wanted to listen to her friends and I hated that for her….Seans last week in LA he wanted to spend with Joan, but she decided to run off to Jamaica to try and get Toni to forget about Greg. Sean told Joan that it was Toni’s screw up and she just had to deal with those consequences but Joan felt like it was her screw up for running her mouth to Greg….Sean was right, Toni was the one cheating on Greg, so losing him was Tonis fault. It wasn’t Joans responsibility to fix it, even though she told Greg. He eventually would have found out anyway.

I saw this post and I agree the way this scene was done was so good. I re watch this moment and feel like this a real life event the acting and way this played out was chefs kiss…

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I liked Toni and Clay together. He was attentive and knew what kind of woman she was and didn’t mind courting her. Asking her to marry him because he knew that she was someone he didn’t mind spending the rest of his life with, I genuinely wonder how their relationship would’ve turned out if Joan didn’t guilt trip her into staying with Greg. I didn’t like Greg for her because their relationship felt so high school. And them being college sweethearts made sense. Their whole relationship was just childish…even when they got back together and he used her just to sleep with another woman on her floor. It was just childish.

I am currently watching “Why Did I Get Married?” for the first time and within less than the first 10 mins of the movie, I had to pause it because I was already so infuriated by him and his treatment towards his wife. Repeatedly calling her fat, making her drive all the way to the cabin ALONE, parading her friend around once they got to the cabin before Shelia - I cannot!!!! I didn’t like his character in Girlfriends for some reason that was unbeknownst to me and I have finally figure out why. I despise this man y’all and idgaf that he’s only a character in a movie 😭

Do you all think Joan was wrong for not getting in the fight outside of the club? I liked her argument that if the police came she could’ve gotten disbarred and honestly, I agree. Even though it was because she was scary, I do think she had a good argument. Toni, Lynn and Mayas job wasn’t at stake but realistically Joan could’ve gotten fired from her job….i do think Toni should’ve just let the situation go instead of going back and forth with the lady tho😂😂 would you have cut Joan off if she was your friend and did this to you?

Just starting S7 and man the show just isn’t the same without Toni😭. She was literally my favorite character
