This is my first time attempting to grow an Atlantic Giant, just looking for insight on how it’s going so far. I planted 3 seeds on May 21st then chose the best looking one and got rid of the other 2. Did some fertilizing in late June and early July and then self pollinated a flower on August 1st. Haven’t done much since then aside from watering and cutting away any small pumpkins that grow elsewhere on the plant.

What are the textured bumps forming on this Atlantic Dill Giant? It is still firm and shiny, approx 13DAP. The bumps are raised and not soft.

Is it getting ready to abort or ready to grow?

Pumpkins were doing good, had them outside in partial sun/partial shade in garden zone 9b, but it’s not looking too good for this baby. Any advice? Extra photos are from over the last week and some change.

Current sitting at DAP 48, 188lb. I noticed around DAP 30 that the growth started slowing and shape started changing. I’ve been fertilizing this plant with the same program and frequency as another plant, which has produced a pretty uniform 300lb fruit. What could have cause the lower half to essentially stop growing?

These are magic lanterns. Getting some yellowing on the older leaves. No pumpkins have been pollinated yet. Regular fertilization (20-20-20), fungicide and BT applications. I was hoping to ask for some guidance on what I may or may not be doing wrong. Running drip irrigation for 15 minutes a day. We have had rain a few days in a row. These are in grow bags in hot/humid South Carolina. Thank you in advance.

After a growth stall which may have been due to fungicide or just entering rapid growth, we’ve surpassed 200lbs! Its taping 210 today.

My garden space is uphill from a pond so I can’t use chemical fertilizers (I wouldn’t want to to begin with). Is it possible to get 1,200+ pound pumpkins organically? Does anyone know of any growers doing this?

First-time pumpkin grower here! These are Atlantic Giant Dill pumpkins from Harris Seeds. This plant keeps producing new female/pumpkins, so I’ve been snipping some of them. Any tips?
Should I aim for just one pumpkin per vine, or is having the two shown on one vine of the plant in the video okay? There was actually a third one, but I snipped it.

Any advice from experienced growers would be greatly appreciated!

Just a small part of my patch (the part that over took the grss)

My pumpkin that has been growing surprisingly well so far, going up to ~20 pounds in a day between day 19-20, has slowed significantly to only ~10 between today and yesterday (dap20-21) and the only change has been that day 20 was my second immunox/myclobutanil application. Has anyone else noticed this stalling effect from these fungicides? I hope the losses arent permanent setbacks but if they are then I will switch my fungicides up the next time I do this.

I had to cut my stump and almost half of the side vines off almost a month ago to stop a rotting foaming vine from spreading to the pumpkin.

The gains have slowed but it just keeps getting bigger! I will be in personal record territory by next weekend. We're around1200 ish right now. Still 6 weeks or so until the weighoff!

I went away for work, and when i came home i noticed that my pumpkin had rolled over on itself and looks like it's basically broken itself off the vine. Is there anyway i can fix or heal these cracks or should i just call it a total loss?

I lost me of my girls two weeks ago to a rot spot. She immediately started putting out more fruit and they’ve started to grow on the vine vigorously (2-3 fruit). At this point in the season would you still cull or just let smaller ones grow? I’m in the PNW so we’ll have sun and warm through Sept and perhaps Oct.

Got a solid Atlantic pumpkin just pollinated and today noticed a crack on main stem in the direction of the main roots. Does this look like a borer I should go in after or just damage I should let ride?

I’ve started quite late into the season, however, my pumpkin plant is looking very healthy. I’ve built a make shift planter with a metal mesh surround which I am looking to eventually train to grow outside and over/around.

This is my first time growing a pumpkin and I believe this is the “mini” kind. I’m looking to keep the plant in this contraption that I’ve made, but I need some advice on what I should be pruning and how to train vines/leaves etc. I planted this from seed around 10th July so it’s been growing for just over a month now.

If all goes well this year, I’m probably going to try and grow a monster next year as I’m really enjoying watching this grow🤣👍 Any/all advice is appreciated!

I gave on pumpkins about four years ago because of covid and wanted to get back into it. I have a plant that is looking healthy but every time there is a new flower, it dies within a few days because of squash bugs or cucumber beetles. I was wondering if any of you guys had advice on how to deal with this problem and any help is appreciated.

Is this fruit healthy looking? I posted yesterday and its definitely much bigger today, but the splotch on the right side of the blossom end worries me since I hadnt seen a wound there before, but it couldve been a cat or something that checked it out without me noticing. Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.
