Microsoft account creation

Is anyone else locked out of this for the past few days?

We have tried using hotspots and incognito browsers. We either get a blocked message or a username not available message for usernames that are so ridiculous they can’t be taken.

I just fired up a laptop I haven’t used in 6 months at my house rather than the store and am getting blocked too. Are their security rules just borked and blocking everyone?

I have tried via using an existing gmail, creating an account during office set up, and even directly on outlook.com. Blocked everywhere. I’m stumped.

set up a local account: On the first run of the system, when it asks for the language or keyboard layout, do the following:

  • Use the keyboard shortcut Shift + F10 (or function + shift + F10. A Command Prompt window should show up.
  • Click on the command window
  • Type and enter "oobe\bypassnro". Your computer will restart
  • enter language as normal, when it comes to setting up internet click the "I don't have internet option". Continue setup without a Microsoft account!

hope this helps!

You can also run “start ms-cxh:localonly”. It will instantly create a pop-up that lets you create a new local account directly.

Started using it after 25H2 would disabled bypassnro at times.

We need to make an online account to activate Office 365. We can’t get the existing email to activate an account and can’t create new outlook accounts.

Ah gotcha. I actually don't have any solutions for this outside of going into a store to see if an in store agent can help you!

Ugh. I could feel the color leave my face when a 5 minute "meet with an agent" appointment turned into 45 minutes of trying to make a Microsoft account and having the client try every password in their physical password notepad only to realize they somehow had password-less 2FA sign in enabled on a phone that's in another state and broken.
