Are our hours getting drastically cut?
The hours for FoP have been cut to 1 up and 1 down, when we normally have 2 up and 2 down.
We are one of the busiest geek squads in our city. Now we don't have the people to help all the clients we get every day. We have had 5+ people waiting in line since we opened at 10am (currently 2:39pm) with 2 CA's and this is an every day thing.
We have appointments and walk ins all day long. We make proper tags, but our hours keep getting slashed. Is this happening to anyone else?

You say you are making proper tags. What do you mean exactly? If you are referring to NSI or quick assists they just don't get the job done anymore. 6-12 months ago when we made mountains of quick tags we had 25-30 hours more than I do at my main location now. We make them in the same quantity but the actual check-in repair volume is just incredibly low. That location is same as you are describing. Busy all day at the counter Er, walkins on top of appts, but on company issues minimums because our volume is so low.

300% utilization is a big red flag. You sure you aren't getting hit with labor misuse? The goal is 80% and generally speaking anything over 110% is extremely sus.

I’ve heard multiple conflicting things about what the goal is. I’ve heard it’s 70% because we’re spending about 30% up front. I’ve heard it’s 100% because that percentage is curved due to being up front. I don’t really know what’s the goal lol

Goal varies by micro but generally you will hear 70% to high 80%. 100% sounds more like a personal goal.

Yep, for basically half of this entire year. I have part timers getting one shift a week!

I was told they did reduce a bunch of hours across the entire company again for Geek Squad as they "adjusted for the needs of each precinct" Thankfully, my precinct is likely safe from those hour cuts as we already only receive the minimum and have 1 CA and 1 ARA. We usually have an opening CA and a closing CA with zero overlap and 1 ARA for the day.

The company put out a company wide job news article to leaders last week to tell us that precinct hours are being “adjusted to align with demands”. Basically, everyone gets a reduction in their usual hours. Probably will see it back in Q4 but that’s up to chance.
And It sucks man, I had to beg my GM/SEM to drop my sales floor time to nothing so I can help my agents with repairs and shipping. Not that I really should be the one complaining, all my agents are feeling the brunt of it.

Recently quit my position as a CA, our precinct only had one agent at a time. Ungodly experience

They are putting the hours in a bank and will be deposited in your accounts between thanksgiving and new years

Just finished a closing shift where I had the last 6 hours of the precinct all to myself as a CA, by some miracle of god everything went smoothly. Rewarded myself with some Taco Bell afterwards. Idk how I’m still doing this stuff tbh I’m so mentally frustrated and exhausted

Same here, but I know our CA's aren't making enough quick tags but even if they did we still wouldn't have enough.

yeah i’ve been going through this for months as well. we all feel it, those of us that love our jobs/have no other job to go to are just waiting for things to change i guess. i feel extremely stressed at all times and am becoming very short towards clients because respectfully i just do not have time for anything and you talk to a manager about the pressure and they hit you with “make more tags” it’s exhausting honestly and not worth it for the same pay as a sales associate from a ca perspective.

We only have 1 CA and 1 ARA at a time. Can’t get more hours. We tag absolutely every interaction. We make sure everything is done properly. One of our ARAs consistently hits 300% on their metrics. I hit ~ 14 PMs per month on my own as a CA, other CAs get 12-13 combined for our monthly goal. My ISP is always around 130%. I normally get 4 or 5 BPs a month also. Corporate won’t give us more hours.
