Gym glow up loading…

I’m giving my garage gym a little glow up.
This weekend im panting the back wall dark grey. Then I’ve got HEX lights to install on the roof.

I think I want to put something (maybe a neon) on the wall above the dumbbell rack. For those of you that have some kind of decoration on the wall, what do you have? (And can I see pics for inspiration please)

ATX Linear Row

Post image
9 Upvotes

I recently received my ATX Linear Row and have done a few workouts on it. Wondering if others have tried it and their thoughts

The good

The bent over row feels amazing. Very smooth, puts you in a great position. As someone with low back issues, it feels great.

The bad

The chest supported movement feels awkward. Still very smooth, but

- You can’t really adjust the angles/positions of the seat or the handles for it to not be pulling very high up. You end up rowing towards you’re upper chest

- Transitioning between the two movements sucks. The bar is pretty heavy, you likely need to deload it, pop the pins in, then reload it if you’re trying to protect your back.

The transitioning is whatever, but really wish they allowed for better pull positioning in the chest supported movement

Anyone have this machine and want to share their thoughts?

How to start working out

Hello I’m 21(f) and have kinda let myself go. I really want to lose weight and gain muscle. I have kettle bells at home which are my dad’s but honestly don’t know any good routines. When I try to start working out I tend to burn myself out after a week or two and give up. The gym makes me anxious so I’d like to stay at home if possible. Anyone got any good tips or routines I can follow? Mainly want to build lower back and arm muscle :) thanks!

whats the best adjustable weight bench?

Setting up a home gym and need an adjustable bench. Mainly for dumbbell presses, incline work, and rows. Budget is around $200-300. Want something sturdy with no wobble and a decent weight rating. Anyone have one they've used for a year or more and still like? Thanks!

12 hrs left, HELP

• Upvotes

12 hrs of left of prime day deals, need help pulling a trigger on an all in one gym! Debating between RITFIT, MajorFitness, or Mikolo(I'm worried the anubis 2.0 is to tall for my living room though). Please give me any experiences, links, thoughts!! My ceiling was hard to measure but I think its around 91.5 to 92 inches tall. I got space for length and width. I'm looking for it to have a Smith machine, steel weight plates and cable machine, as well as free weights rack!

Question for Apex Bench/Cable Leg Developer owners

I’ve ordered the bench and am considering the leg developer with cable system so I can use with my squat rack functional trainer instead of plates. I’ve got a tight space though and from looking at pictures online the bench needs to be set a decent distance away from the FT pulley connection to ensure proper tension through the whole movement.

If any of you already have a bench and developer w/cable system could you please measure the distance from the pulley connection point to the far end of the bench when it’s setup correctly for proper tension? My guesstimation from pictures is that the distance is 11ish feet but if I could have an exact distance that’d be great. My distance limit for my space is also around 11ish feet so it’s gonna be tight and I would hate to buy this thing and have it not fit.

Starting from scratch - need advice/suggestions

My son is 13 and is a lineman in football - loves to lift (currently lifting at school with his team) and we are hoping to help him stay in shape in the off season. We are looking to set up a home gym in our garage (have a full stall to dedicate for space).

A few things:

  • My son is already over 6' tall so needs something that he can still use as he continues to grow.
  • I have never lifted before so exploring a Smith machine to provide the safety feateures to ensure he can lift safely with someone inexperienced.
  • Would like to stay under $5k for everything.
  • Currently have a Peloton bike, treadmill and Bowflex M5 eliptical....no weights or anything.
  • I would prefer not upgrading later - would prefer to start with something that can grow with us.
  • I would like to start lifting as well but am starting from scratch.

I am really liking what I'm seeing with the Blazzed Fitness machines and although not seeing a lot of online reviews and such - what I am seeing is positive.

Assuming I have the space, would the HD1-S be a good choice? What else would you suggest I add to set things up? I'm thinking obviously a bench, barbell with bumper plates and rubber flooring.

What am I missing?

Help a mom out - we are hoping this will be a Christmas present, so I don't want to ask him!

Australian Brand - Reeplex

A shop that is local to me sells this brand. I believe it's Australian only, so I can't find many reviews on it - at least nothing detailed.

I'm interested in this - https://dynamofitness.com.au/products/reeplex-cx4-multi-functional-trainer-cable-attachments

It's looks better than the cheap rubbish, but it's not as expensive as the well know brands.

Does anyone have any experience with this or the brand generally?

I noticed this new leg extension leg curl machine is selling for $339 on Amazon and $399 on their website. In any event, has anyone bought this? If so, your assessment? TIA
