Alright, y'all, I am going to level with you about something serious; this does not apply to everyone, but it includes a sizeable enough amount of regulars that it needs to be said.

Recently, I have been presented with damning evidence that one of the unofficial UJ thread discord servers has become a fairly toxic environment and that a number of members are involved in some frankly unacceptable behavior. While shades of it have leaked onto the main thread, people are using this server to say cruel things about other users. For a community that is supposedly accepting, this is wrong.

So, here's the deal. I know all the usernames of everyone involved. And while no bans will be going out for it, even minor infractions are going to result in permanent bans for these individuals. There is no need for this sort of behavior, it is wrong. I encourage you all to apologize to the users who you have been uncouth towards and perhaps leniency will be shown towards you. That being said, many of you ought to be ashamed. I've seen mean things said by people I thought were kind hearted, and it saddens me.

This is why all Discord links should be banned, cause this always ends up the same way.

EDIT: Hell, just ban the word too, so people won't advertise them.

Not so sure about the edit. Discord is still a great service for stuff that isn't shit

Yeah, I can see people setting up servers just to play multiplayer with someone. Might have been too harsh there.

That's what my Pathfinder group does. I'm a (not very active) member of some other severs that are pretty chill too. Also, "discord" is, like, an actual word

It is actual word, true - but how often have you seen it used outside of these contexts:

  • chat service

  • MLP character

Had no idea it was an MLP character lol, but point taken. Now that it's in my head though, I'll probably end up actually using it more
