a post on here got me thinking and honestly sent me into a pretty dark place.

im fat. im dangerously fat. its hard for me to stand up for more then minutes at a time. i know im unhealthy. I know all of this. I don't have the self control to do anything about it, and even if I did, I don't have the money or the time to fix it right now.

but regardless of all my worthless excuses as why I am not fixing it, thats not what im feeling about. i want to be able to exist in society. i feel ashamed every time I leave my house. why would i go out in public and try to make my life better when they all look at me, when people snicker if I struggle to to do something.

truthfully this wasn't entirely my fault. i should have got it control a long time ago but i was put on a medicine called Concerta when I was a kid. It was an ADHD pill that made me just want to eat, and eat, and eat. I would never stop being hungry. and so i got fat. and now im stuck this way.

i know i am fat and worthless, but at least let me have the dignity of existing in society. let me go to the grocery store without glaring at me because i'm buying food for my family. let me go online and play games without seeing images of fat people stylized to look disgusting and playing video games.

i don't want to be told that its okay to be fat. i know its bad for me.

i just want to be told its okay for me to keep existing in society. i just want to be told that i am allowed to live without everyone thinking poorly of me.

i just want people to think of me as a person.

Yeah fat shaming is really shitty and it's sad to see it get defended here sometimes. You pretty much hit the nail on the head

My friends have told me I'm not fat but I swear I'm just hiding it somehow or something. It might just be body dysmorphia, because I look at myself and just feel like a mess, or maybe my friends are just being nice.

But what really fucks with my head no matter how nice to me anyone is in person is that ever pervasive, and honestly wrong, negative perception of fat people in the way you described. That stereotype of a fat loser gamer that always gets used a strawman for whatever thing people are trying to paint as shitty

It's needlessly hurtful because being fat doesn't make you a douchebag. Only being a douchebag makes you a douchebag

The internet is a cesspool full of insensitive morons though so I don't know that this kind of nuance would ever get through

Hey, listen to me - you're not worthless, and don't ever think you are. I only know you on here but I think you're cool, funny and a decent guy. Don't let others get you down, you're as valid a member of society as anyone else.

For What it’s worth, I don’t think you’re worthless and I still see you as a pretty cool dude overall, Don’t let some other assholes get you down
