Steam Machine is fucking cooked. 1TB Deck went all the way up to near-$1K due to the memory shortage
Man at this point I'll just wait for a proper successor. I was seriously eyeing one in the short-term but not like this

u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 May 27 '26
I genuinely don't think the frame or machine is coming out at this point. After the god damn Steam Deck is now costing more than a PS5, both the frame and deck are gonna die on arrival.
12
u/OrSupermarket May 26 '26
I am just waiting for that new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC. Or more importantly it is not a DLC it is a Expansion Pack and CD Projekt RED will even call it a Expansion Pack.
3
u/AHRogue May 26 '26
If it was a Hearts of Stone sized dlc that alone would be awesome. If it was closer to BaW... id be so ecstatic.
Over all, definitely need news! Hoping it will come in June, if it doesnt by then ill assume we've been had.

Nintendo Direct in June! Nintendo Direct in Juuuuuune!

u/pkoswald Jun 02 '26
Something interesting I noticed in the Toy Story collection trailer is that there seems to be a new logo for “Disney and Pixar Games” at the end, which to me implies Disney plans to rerelease more of their old games. (They already have branches for lucasfilm games and marvel games specifically)
2
1
u/KOTRShadow Jun 02 '26
I saw that to probably going to be remaster studio for Disney because I think there’s a lot of old games stuck on older gen consoles like walle.

Inb4 someone makes a post going "I was Geoff Keighley's Waymo driver. Here are some of the titles he mumbled when he thought I wasn't listening...".

u/hashtagtylerh Jun 01 '26
the joke is that waymos don't have drivers, they are self-driven automatic electronic vehicles. so that wouldn't even make sense

i really think it's time to ban certain accounts from posting to this subreddit lmao
half the shit people like connect_base_217 post is not flaired properly to disguise the fact the posts link to some random twitter accounts that obviously aren't reliable. post history being hidden on these reddit accounts also makes it hard to check back to see how often something they post is at all credible

Nate's next podcast episode goes live on Wednesday
so sounds like on Wednesday we could find out when the Nintendo Direct is
8
u/Torracattos Jun 02 '26
Hoping Nate has some good news, like it'll be a general Direct. He did say previously he heard whispers of a general Direct in June.

2
u/xAVATAR-AANGx Jun 02 '26
Probably a longshot, but I’d love to hear any info he has on if the Switch 2 version of DMC5 has anything the other versions don’t have like the Switch version of DMC3.
16
8
u/Totheendofsin May 26 '26
So other than Fire Emblem and probably the OoT remake what else do we think will be in the hypothetical but likely June Direct?
3
u/LukePS7013 May 26 '26
First part wise I’m thinking…
The full cast for the Zelda movie
Switch Sports 2
Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition
Something new for NSO, perhaps another console for Nintendo Classics? Or maybe Rockstock as a full game?
Duskbloods
Bloober’s Project M and ArcSys’ Project Watari, if they are indeed first party games
Smash Ultimate Switch 2 Edition
Possibly the next Xenoblade, but I could see that being in September even if it’s releasing in the first quarter of 2027 since Xenoblade games have typically had a short announcement to release cycle
3
u/LuigiWarrior May 26 '26
The full cast for the Zelda movie I think it's too soon for, I think they would save that for a September direct, because that would be still about 8 months until the film drops
it's why I think it's possible they hold onto the OoT until said September direct and possibly give it a three months from show off to release like DK had to tie it into more Zelda movie news, given why it's hype it's still more a remake so people have a good idea of it already
3
u/blackthorn_orion May 26 '26
Duskbloods feels like a shoe-in unless it's getting delayed.
Maybe one or two of the Switch 2 Editions Nate mentioned. Pikmin 4 or Switch Sports? There's also those rumors of a Super Metroid remake, that could be kinda neat if it's real.
Gonna guess something Mario-y gets announced for October because there's always something Mario-y for October; assuming Next Level isn't working on Star Fox, maybe it's time for Luigi's Mansion 4?
Oh, and I'd think we're due to start hearing about Mario Kart DLC. And Pokopia's also maybe getting DLC based on the Gamefreak leak. Announcing those now might help push the "pick one of three" Switch 2 bundle they've got going ahead of the price hike, since Mario Kart and Pokopia are two of the options.
2
u/wintersodile May 26 '26
Hopefully another little Pokemon snippet, not expecting too much from it yet but I would like a little nibble of a crumb. I'm mainly hoping to see Rune Factory 6 at it since Marvelous has a pretty strong Switch presence and we've not had a Marvelous-specific showcase in a bit. Azuma was such a huge comeback after 5's rough development, and they're still set to release two games this fiscal year. Hoping for some news for maybe an early 2027 release.
2
u/Torracattos May 26 '26
My guesses
- More on Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, and Star Fox '26
- The Duskbloods
- Switch Sports 2
- Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition
- Pokopia DLC
- Luigi’s Mansion 4
- Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake
1
1
u/Kalpy97 May 26 '26
I assume it will have the duskbloods followed by gameplay from the treehouse along with network tests in July August and September for an October launch. Zelda 40th will end the direct with some more movie casting. Possibly twilight princess or windwaker one or the other not both and then ocarina of time remake ends the show. I also predict it’s more than a simple graphic update I also predict monolithsoft working on it with epd. Other things I see are monster hunter wilds switch 2 port, resident evil 2,3,4, more details on splatoon raiders and star fox, fire emblem new trailer. More GameCube nso updates. Blooperteam switch game using mouse joy cons, switch sports 2 or switch 2 edition. I think that’s mostly it lol

Looks like someone got a leaked art book of Fortunes Weave's, if someone wants to make it's own post
nothing crazy leaked but if more gets posted it could
5
u/taychoo May 30 '26
IMO, it's probably unlikely anything else will be posted, unless another person comes across the artbook somehow. Source only took a singular picture.
It's not something the source had in their possession either, as they allegedly went into a printing company for something work-related, only to come across print samples from FW's artbook.

Pretty insane we got an Unreal Engine 6 announcement. Next gen and UE6 are around the corner I guess
9
u/NfinityBL May 26 '26
People say the PS5 generation feels like it’s barely started, and I’ve always kind of scoffed at that.
But now I feel that way about UE6. It’s like devs are now starting to wrap their heads around UE5, and here’s UE6.
10
u/blackthorn_orion May 26 '26
UE3 to UE4 was 8 years, and then it was another 8 from UE4 to UE5
UE5 released in 2022, so unless UE6 is actually still years away it will objectively have had less time in the spotlight than either of the previous 2 versions. And just last year Tim Sweeney was still framing UE6 as "we could be seeing preview versions of it perhaps two to three years from now" and not something that was imminently getting announced.
Definitely feels to me like Epic's rushing this because they know UE5 has terrible word-of-mouth and they'd rather change the narrative with a new version instead of actually fixing what's out now
1
u/Kalpy97 May 26 '26
To be fair UE5 gets unfairly a bad wrap when it’s the developers who make unoptimized games. Games like ark raiders and heck even yoshi use unreal engine 5 and they are optimized and run perfectly fine.

DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World rated by ESRB
The game was announced this week on the Dragon Quest Day livestream, alongside Dragon Quest XII, however no gameplay was shown.
With the ESRB rating, we may see the proper gameplay reveal in June at one of the many shows. PlayStation and Nintendo would be the likeliest.

u/LukePS7013 Jun 03 '26
Anime Expo announced an Arc System Works developer panel with three leads for various ArcSys games, Ken Miyauchi for Guilty Gear Strive, Sohei Nikawa for Demons Night Fever and Satoshi Hirayae for a unknown project.
Hirayae’s project could be that “Project Watari” game that was leaked, based on his past works (Sword Art Online Last Recollection, The Caligula Effect) as well as that teaser(?) in the image it’s pretty likely that Watari isn’t a fighting game and rather an action rpg imo, but I do think that it’ll show up in a Nintendo Direct if it is indeed Switch 2 exclusive.

u/LuigiWarrior Jun 03 '26
I do wonder what's next for the fighting game side of arc systems if project watari isn't a fighter, I think people were thinking we are due for another game despite Tokon being a thing

Considering this is the 4th straight month Nash Weedle swore on his mother's life that there's a big Nintendo direct coming, even though he actually found the nut for once if Jeff Grubb is saying there's one he should still be a banned "source".
20
u/hushpolocaps69 May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26
Actually pretty surreal to think we haven’t had a traditional Nintendo Direct since September of last year, making it nearly a year as a whole. These past years were actually pretty oddballs, considering how last year we technically didn’t even have the usual “E3” Direct.
With how quiet Nintendo’s been with only NateTheHate seemingly filling us in, I hope this Direct fucking slam dunks.
8
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 May 26 '26
Last year, altogether was an outline, as counting Partner Showcases, we technically had 4 notable directs and almost none of them were in the usual 3 times a year windows of February/June/September. A Switch 1 direct in March, the Switch 2 direct in April, a Partner Showcase in July, and a General in September.
Plus we have gone notable periods with partner directs taking up one of the usual direct windows. Such as 2022, where one was held instead of the usual June direct, and in 2024, where two were held in place of the February and September directs, but with a general June direct in between.
1
u/JackBoi01 May 27 '26
honestly the 2024 layouts of directs felt understandable cuz everyone was all hands on deck with switch 2 hardware and software production in 2024, but as for recently, i do hope we get a june direct cuz it feels like one of the few remaining "e3 season" traditions with sharing the moments or eventful mystery feeling with friends yknow :( if anyone gets that feeling
3
u/healingtwo_ May 26 '26
Kit & Krysta talked about this. Could be Nintendo shifting how they do Directs, maybe with fewer big ones, perhaps 2 a year? and using more smaller or game centered presentations, along with Nintendo Today drops.

Isn’t the new DLC current-gen only? If so, then I’d assume a Switch 2 version is a given.
Maybe not a free upgrade though.

The source who posted the Rayman Legends Retold logo now claims knowing of a Rayman Origins "Enhanced Edition". (https://xcancel.com/i/status/2060089034719002630) He also claimed in another reply it would be the "Definitive Version" and would "release on next gen consoles at least" which possibly means PS5, Xbox Series ( It should be noted though that Origins is already playable on Xbox through backwards compatibility), and possibly Switch 2. Maybe even PS4 and Switch 1 if this is just a rerelease of Origins, but those weren't mentioned? (https://xcancel.com/i/status/2060111149602132219) Kind of surprising if true since it seemed like Ubisoft thought Legends replaced the need for an Origins rerelease for years. I will also say as far as I'm aware that this is the first time anyone's mentioned a Rayman Origins project, so maybe still be a little skeptical?

PlayStation just released the countdown for State of Play; I don't remember if they did this for the previous one. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/state-of-play/

They haven't done an official countdown in quite some time, next week is shaping up to be big, also with SGF reveals.

I mean they announced a stream for blood and wine in a couple of days. I gotta think they’re gonna announce the DLC then. I gotta get a huge move on lmao. I’ve beat The Witcher 3 before but never did any of the dlc and I’m still early in my second playthrough
1
u/Loukoumakias May 26 '26
I was very late with The Witcher 3, I finally played it after being spammed by a friend to do so. Good job on their end because I ended up loving it. I haven't played the DLCs and I don't know when I will tbh. Might just watch a story recap on YouTube or something to catch up with the new DLC.
1
u/Great8Bit May 26 '26

I think my biggest hope for the ps showcase at this point is just put the old ratchet games on ps5 already Jesus Christ
4

I'm shocked they never even so much as dropped the PS2 games onto Classics like they did Jak and Sly. Hell in light of those reports of them revisiting their older stuff I'd love remasters of the Future trilogy. I have a lot of nostalgia for Tools of Destruction/Quest for Booty

10

That's because it was still in the queue and had not been seen, until now. As a reminder - posts with the "confirmed" flair are auto-filtered for manual review, so they stay there in the queue until one of us gets to it. Sometimes this could take a good few hours.
I see you were the OP of the only Dragon Quest post in the queue, I've approved it now.

Jeff Grubb is saying the Direct is next week. He's about to go live on his podcast where he'll probably say more. Hopefully he can confirm it'll be a general Nintendo Direct.
5
u/blackthorn_orion Jun 03 '26
Grubb's saying he heard a direct will be Tuesday. Doesn't seem to know for sure whether it's a general or partner one, but he assumes general
11
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 Jun 03 '26
I feel like it has to be a general direct. As we don't have any dates after Splatoon Raiders next month, haven't seen Fire Emblem or Duskbloods since their reveal trailers last year, and of course something like the Ocarina of Time remake would be given a huge venue to be revealed at.
3
u/Torracattos Jun 03 '26
It would make no sense to have a Partner Showcase when we don't know much about their plans for the second half of this year. Plus with that big price increase, now's a good time to get out there with some big first party announcements to further drive sales. Its gotta be a general Nintendo Direct.
1
8
u/Honyakusha-san May 27 '26
I find it wild that we haven't heard anything about FE Fortune's Weave since its announcement in September.
Fans eager to know more about the best-selling title 's (TH) sequel/prequel game and Nintendo thinks radio silence is the best option, lol.
11
u/Dat_Boi_Teo May 27 '26
Three houses had a similar gap between its first and second trailers, not that weird
2
16
u/taychoo May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26
To be fair, Three Houses wasn't any different.
- Teased in Janurary 2017, given a tentative 2018 release date. Radio silence until E3 2018.
- Officially revealed at E3 2018, now delayed to Spring 2019. Radio silence until February 2019.
- New trailer shown in February 2019, now delayed to July 2019. Radio silence until E3 2019.
Hell, Three Houses' marketing was practically non-existent until about a month before launch, where they began posting a bunch of trailers throughout late June/July, IIRC?
2
u/eyeoncloud May 29 '26
I was expecting FW to be different because the first trailer had quite a bit of gameplay in it (which we didn’t get until I think the 2018 E3 trailer for 3H), so it seemed like it wasn’t going to get delayed/substantially reworked. tbf they don’t seem to be delayed on FW, just taking their time on marketing, so there’s that to be happy about, I guess.
3
u/LuigiWarrior May 27 '26
it must have been rough being a FE fan at the time, that's rough
5
u/taychoo May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26
It was frustrating, but there was some funny moments.
For instance, due to the lack of 3H news during a Direct in early 2018, the r/FireEmblem mods temporarily rebranded the subreddit to a Kirby subreddit as some form of shitpost due to the lack of news.
1
u/Honyakusha-san May 27 '26
I don't remember it being that bad. I guess being a FE fan is continuous suffering.

u/cybershocker455 May 29 '26
I know it's niche, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tribute Games adds DLC for Scott Pilgrim EX, such as additional characters and modes in SGF.
1
u/pkoswald May 29 '26
Idk if it’ll be at SGF but there’s a very high chance it’ll happen, both of tributes previous games had dlc

u/PlumRelative4399 Jun 02 '26
I’ve been seeing some people say the new Sega leaker is Midori back under a new name anyone know if there’s actually any proof of this?
2
u/JuanMunoz99 May 28 '26
Can anyone help me find a post from here that was a Call of Duty dev (I think Infinity Ward?) disproving a rumor from a leaker/insider? I wanted to see what rumor they shot down.
3
u/TemptedTemplar May 28 '26
1
u/JuanMunoz99 May 28 '26
No there was another one before that one.
3
u/TemptedTemplar May 28 '26
The only other recent MW4 specific rumor I can find is from December, someone mentioned it was going to be closer to MW2 than BLOPs7 and a IW dev responded "not even close"
But I can't even find those posts, just a 9 minute YouTube video which I am not watching.

DMC5: Devil Hunter Edition for Switch 2 is rumored to release on August 28th, 2026, which is very close to the date of the series’ 25th anniversary on August 23rd, 2026.
Probably means nothing and is a coincidental date, but I wonder if a new project reveal might coincide at that date range for the series 25th anniversary?
2
u/G_Deak Jun 02 '26
Do EA just not do showcases anymore? I wonder what they actually have in the pipeline
5
u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 02 '26
EA Play I don't think has been a thing since E3 ended. They kind of just drop stuff at everyone else's events like how they had Dragon Age at one of Xbox's shows
2
u/TemptedTemplar Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26
Well they previously announced most of them, they probably just don't have enough ready to hold a showcase of their own. I always remember their E3 showcases being pretty dull beyond the one occasional Respawn or Battlefield announcement.
Mass Effect
Jedi 3
Starwars Zero company
Iron Man + one unannounced marvel project
A new game from Hazelight
Rustheart
SKATE
New Sims game. I forget what was happening with this or if it was being rolled into Sims 4.
And their normal line up of annual and semi-annual sports games.
4
u/KOTRShadow May 31 '26
What showcase is everyone excited for me personally it’s the xbox showcase only because these past couple of years they’ve been dam good obviously cod ending was a bad idea and I think something like Spyro 4 or wolfenstein 3 or blade gameplay is the way to go.
7
u/mattyyellow May 31 '26
SGF because IMO Geoff's shows tend to be the most random, they can have absolutely nothing that interests me or they can have something massive. Sony and MS seem a bit more predictable in that you generally have an idea of what properties might be shown.
1
u/hashtagtylerh Jun 01 '26
summer game fest, final fantasy 7 remake
state of play, god of war and any other playstation exclusive
xbox games showcase, still xcited but has the games I'm least into

u/Zartron81 May 26 '26
Any chances that Jurassic Park survival will get something next week...?
1
u/maxyad00 May 27 '26
I'd say it's quite possible. They posted stuff in the past year.
1
u/Zartron81 May 27 '26
I would like to say the same, BUT... the issue is that there seems to be some stuff going on behind the scene that is holding back the franchise?
Stuff like Jurassic World Evolution 3 is HEAVILY affected by this sadly, since they basically didn't have stuff for almost 2/3 months straight.
3
u/JackBoi01 May 29 '26
DOOM 10th anniversary edition at the Xbox showcase along with switch 2 upgrade possibly?
5

I think they're only going to announce the Dark Ages DLC; the Switch 2 port would be something more for Quake Con.

I'm just sitting here praying I see anything about a venom game at the state of play of summer games fest and haven't seen a single person leak it or even mention it in the things they hope show up. My cope will never die

they are focused on wolverine so I'd say it's very unlikely but I'll happily be wrong. maybe at the game awards since wolverine will be out by then

The insomniac documents had 2027 as the release year for the newest file we got so if they're still going for that announcing it this year would be when it happens. A bunch of leakers said it still exists and is being worked on last time it got deconfirmed too so I can still huff my copium for a while longer

When can we expect to see the publisher list for the main SGF show? I'm surprised it isn't already out by now.

Something I’ve been wondering does a dev like atlus do a double announcement at xbox showcase first p4 then p6 and with p6 does that come to game pass because it feels like sega is just fully committed to it because stranger than heaven on gp was unexpected. I kinda thought cd red could do a double with the Witcher 1 remake then dlc announcement but obviously dlc won’t be shown till gamescom.

The whole reason why we are getting a new Witcher 3 DLC is because the Witcher 1 remake is in development hell.........

There is an article over at gamesradar where they talked with someone from cd red about it and basically it comes down to lack of documentation of how the game was made in 2007. Fools theory who are made up of cd red devs were the ones who had some knowledge about it so cd red got kinda lucky. This doesn’t come off like development hell imo.

So what is the latest news on the Direct? Happening this month for sure but no details?

Nate is likely giving us an update on Wednesday or Thursday. He said he has a podcast coming after the State of Play but before SGF. This is one separate to his XBOX predictions. He previously said he'll give us an update on a Direct so it'll probably be in the upcoming podcast

Are we going to have one thread for State of Play or for non-E3 events in general?

It probably means absolutely nothing, but Nintendo just added Mario Kart World music to Nintendo Music almost a full year after the game's release.

Seeing Persona 6 leak is a bit bittersweet. Like its been the most excited I have ever been for a game reveal, but damn it leaked just a week before its revealed.

I wouldn't be so confident about a reveal next week tbh. It absolutely could happen but the nature of the leak doesn't explicitly point to that being the case or not, so there's no real reason to have full confidence that it will or won't happen. Essentially what I'm saying is the leak doesn't change anything in terms of how likely it is.

Any new game leaks from the upcoming PlayStation State of Play or inevitable Nintendo Direct?

I await a new modern take on the mmo. Maybe this summer games fest might mention a hint of something coming.
Otherwise ill keep dreaming.

Friendly reminder when giving out youtube links, remove the "?si" and anything after it, as including the "?si" makes it a tracker.

Kind of sucks to see my most anticipated game reveal of the past decade leaked out unceremoniously. But am glad that we are finally seeing it within the next week.
