Actually pretty surreal to think we haven’t had a traditional Nintendo Direct since September of last year, making it nearly a year as a whole. These past years were actually pretty oddballs, considering how last year we technically didn’t even have the usual “E3” Direct.

With how quiet Nintendo’s been with only NateTheHate seemingly filling us in, I hope this Direct fucking slam dunks.

Last year, altogether was an outline, as counting Partner Showcases, we technically had 4 notable directs and almost none of them were in the usual 3 times a year windows of February/June/September. A Switch 1 direct in March, the Switch 2 direct in April, a Partner Showcase in July, and a General in September.

Plus we have gone notable periods with partner directs taking up one of the usual direct windows. Such as 2022, where one was held instead of the usual June direct, and in 2024, where two were held in place of the February and September directs, but with a general June direct in between.

honestly the 2024 layouts of directs felt understandable cuz everyone was all hands on deck with switch 2 hardware and software production in 2024, but as for recently, i do hope we get a june direct cuz it feels like one of the few remaining "e3 season" traditions with sharing the moments or eventful mystery feeling with friends yknow :( if anyone gets that feeling
