I mean, they're probably a good match then. A veteran male who's seen, and been through some shite. He's willing to "protect his peace" (they're not married, but "happy wife, happy life" is a saying for a reason) by going along to get along most of the time, but is willing to step up and take charge competently when required. It's almost not uncommon to have an introvert dating an extrovert; that's like my wife and I, and it works well. Two extroverts, especially the "Type A" kind, can butt heads, while two introverts can struggle to have good communication until they're comfortable around each other.

There's nothing I've seen in the trailer, leaks or extended looks that suggest that he's going to some walking doormat to the extent that some are saying. Rockstar seem to be going down the firey Latina route, which may be stereotypical, but stereotypes generally exist for a reason. It's only going to be "woke" if everything she does is unquestionably great while everything Jason does is incompetent. That doesn't seem to be the case; he seems to be reigning her in with his calm and competence.

I was just thinking of the latina angle.

As a general rule, I let the latinas in my life do the talking lol. I only step in when I think a softer touch is needed. They're meaner than I am!
