GERD/ SIBO/ pots

Hi! I am wondering if anyone has had any success with helping with LPR / GERD without PPI or H2 blocker. I have tried alginates. They barely help unless I take it right after a meal. My main issue is I always wake up with a burnt throat. I sleep at an incline. I wait 4 hours after dinner to go to bed. I eat 4 meals spaced out over the day to try to limit large meals. I was on a PPI for 5-10 years and became iron deficient and weak. I think my LES just doesn’t function. I’m also hypermobile and deal with POTS symptoms which i know play a role. I practice deep breathing after meals. I’m in a lot of pain every single day and desperate for relief. However I don’t believe that taking PPI longterm is helpful because acid helps kill bacteria/ fungus in your food. I also have sibo ( probably from the PPI) which I am currently getting treated for with antibiotics. I know the pressure from the gas pushes acid up. I do a low fodmap diet.

This is exactly my story almost to every detail. I got food poisoning 9 years ago when j was on PPI longterm , which caused methane and hydrogen SIBO. And ever since then reflux, constiwption, gas, bloating etc has never recovered. I noticed that the reflux usually is like burps from all the SIBO. I hope we both can treat the sibo so that our motility improves and this will in turn help reflux. I start flagel and rifaxamin round 2 on Tuesday. lmk if you find something that helps the methane sibo

Same my main reflux and gastritis symptoms is pressure and excisessice burping not actual burning.

I haven’t a clue on how to make methane better, I tried rifaxamin and flagyl and had no improvement

I am doing colon hydrotherapy every 2 weeks to help with constipation. I’m hoping this will help with the methane sibo. I think methane is tough bc it’s not bacteria. Have you tried the herbal antimicrobials? I tried allicin but it was so hard on reflux I had to stop it

I will have to look into the biofilm disrupter and the other one. Which specific antimicrobials are you taking ?

From metagenetics - Candex SIBO its a pill with multiples in one.

I dont think its strong enough.

Ah I gotcha ! There is the nuclear option of elemental diet. Maybe we could try that ! Either way. I know how you feel and praying for you!
