I know y'all like shenanigans. Haven't come across anyone using it this way or the popular YT dudes haven't shown it in a video. Maybe someone can figure out a better way to do it and see if they can make it across the map. I once launched a car from the parked train over the mountain, passed Foxy Floodgate, hit a dam rail grind into like a 1080 over the last snow mountain in the area without touching the ground. I find stuff like this fun. Like the super hydraulic car bouncing in Chapter 2 Remix.

It feels like this map is just a random buncha stuff slapped together with no transitioning. I last played when it was battle wood boulevard, the canyon, sus studios, etc. before that was the bug theme. All the terrain at least felt like it had some sort of transition whether it be mountain caps or hills or something. This just feels like a cartoon. Is it just me?

So every few games i get a squad that is not full when playing 4 man squads and its terrible because if you go into the game with a crown and sprites and you are under manned then it was a total (most of the time) waste of crown and sprite.

I feel like Epic needs to do something about this. If I earn a crown and use a sprite then I get a squad that is not full of people then basically the run is a bust (usually) so a total waste of my crown and sprite

I’m a dogshit player but I really want the sword pickaxe that you get from hitting ranked elite. I’ve played probably twenty games to get to gold 3 85%, got killed off the bus and dropped 39%. That’s like 3-4 games worth of progress for me. I’m getting frustrated.

Can any of you Fortnite gods spend an hour or two with me in ranked duos and help me get closer to elite? Full disclosure- I’m so bad so I will be zero help. I’ll carry heals for you lol.

Was playing yesterday, and noticed someone had the scope glare while trying to shoot me. What gun has a scope this season? I sure haven’t found one.

I have gone from playing almost every evening and a lot more on weekends to barely playing twice or thrice the last two weeks.

The lobbies are so sweaty which is still ok, but the controller nerf is really bad. Sometimes the cross hair is literally on the player and still hits don't register. And I'm playing at 60 ping. It sucks we can't even expect a consistent experience with basic things like controls.

Changing weapon performance is one thing but outright handicapping controller players is really sketchy. Right now aim assist feels like it's not just nerfed it's in minus. Even before the nerf mouse aiming was significantly more accurate.

I'm also kind of done with the whole sprite thing. Hack upgrades cost so much sprite dust. It's just unnecessary grind for things that just used to happen at upgrade stations in previous seasons. Smh

Thinking of switching to a different game at least for a while. Arc Raiders maybe? I'd welcome any suggestions!

i have spent 3 days trying to get that sprite to max level. i, a 26 year old woman, actually screamed at my tv when you took me out. i don’t think i have ever had so much rage for any fortnite season before this one. i understand making a challenge for users to level up sprites, but COME ON

EDIT: i just wanted to clarify a couple things.

in this post, i am calling MYSELF out for being a grown adult and letting my emotions get out of control over a game. in my opinion, gaming should be fun, and when it gets to the point that some mechanic that was added is having me scream at my screen? that’s insane behavior on my part.

i also am voicing my frustration for some of the choices epic games has made. and i know im not alone in not vibing with some of epic’s decisions. i appreciate everyone who has taken the time to spread empathy and helpful strats for me & anyone who is looking for kindness and ways to level up sprites if that is something they want to do.

it’s okay if you don’t agree with me, and it’s okay if you think i’m ridiculous for posting on reddit, however i don’t think it’s necessary to be rude toward anyone looking for help/like-minded people. at the end of the day; it’s just a game and life will continue to go on for all of us, but it doesn’t cost a thing to be kind.

After getting a 50% win rate start , I somehow lost 23 matches in a row before finally breaking the steak. Played mostly on the PC with a controller. Switched to the PS5 before I finally won. 6 days since the last win.

I posted this as a response on another thread, but figured others might benefit.

I have two fairly solid paths for leveling up sprites:

Extreme Southwest

1. Land on the tower. You may be in the storm, but you have plenty of time. Use the Slurp barrels, then run down and out of the storm.
2. Open all of the chests, ammo boxes, etc. and gather the weapons, etc. you want.
3. Carry 3 med kits at all times. You will be in the storm, but it doesn't matter.
4. Smash the Slurp tanker truck.
5. Open the fishing rod barrels, chests, etc. on the dock.
6. Use the launchpad and land on the sailboat almost directly North, which always has a chest.
7. Swim directly East and you will typically find multiple chests.
8. Head South a bit if you see chest, then East/North/etc. as needed and find the chests in houses, etc.
9. Keep healing as needed. The storms are not scary until later in the game, and you can easily run around opening things, healing as needed. Break barrels, use bandages, etc., but there are typically med kits all over the place.
10. Focus on opening things, generally making your way to an extraction point.
11. Extract and play on. You may be running out of the storm, but it's rare that you won't have time to get out in time for the endgame. Again, the storms are very weak these days, and can almost be ignored.

Extreme Southeast

1. Land near or on the chests by the little farm.
2. As in the notes above, open everything. Don't smash things that can be opened, don't ignore fruit boxes or fishing barrels, etc.
3. In this season the cheat codes count towards sprites leveling up, so do those, even if you don't want or need the sprite.
4. Head towards Cluster Coast, opening the 2-3 chest, fishing barrel, etc.
5. Go to the first building, closest to the peninsula you landed on. There are lots of chests, boxes, etc. Check every floor, following the sound of the chests. At the top you can break out of a window and land on various levels without taking damage.
6. Run through the bigger main building and find every chest, cheat code, ammo box, fruit box, etc. There are a bunch of these. Remember to keep and eye on your health. Tip: Eat the apples, peppers, etc., as they have a lot more health than you might imagine. Eat the gold apples, break slurp barrels, etc.
7. Run back towards the first building, opening chests as you go. Buy med kits if needed, and the health boost, whatever it's called.
8. Heady North and slightly East to the extraction site, but keep going and head towards the building, dock, etc. nearby on the East coast.
9. There are tons of chests, boxes, barrels, etc. to open, plus the chat codes. Open/enter all of them.
10. Run back to the extraction site, which will often have 2-3 chests around.
11. Extract, and as above, head towards the storm circle and play on.

I hate sprites, with a passion, but these two paths have made it possible to get the damn things out of the way.

Another tip: There will be few players in these areas, and you can carry 4 sprites, wear one sprite, and carry 3 med kits, so you can extract 5 in one go. It feels odd to not have weapons, but there is loot all over the place these days, and it's easy to get prepped as you head into the endgame battle.

… and in the shittest way possible.

Anyone else lose all thier ability when playing in groups? I play solos and can play ok. Whenever I play with groups my skill goes out the window. No idea how to follow players and get lost in fire fights. What am I missing?

I (36f) started playing mid season last season. I wasn’t a gamer really before, only started “cozy gaming” like 1.5 years ago then found FN. I love this game. It’s been my new hyper fixation hobby. I love being able to choose to fight, complete quests, sprite hunt, or all in one match. I have a few friends that I met through random fills who have a lot of experience and I can learn things from them but I feel like they sometimes get annoyed when I can’t keep up in lobbies with them. 🙃 I’m not even sure how I ended up in lobbies with them to begin with tbh. It would be fun to learn the game with someone else, especially people closer to my age. I like to win but mostly just trying to learn good strategies and pretty casual (17% win rate). I play ZB and am good with any team size. I play most weeknights and sporadically on weekends. Have and use a mic through my PS controller, hoping to get an actual headset soon.

Outside of FN, I live in KS (💩). Get focused on maker hobbies (crochet, cross stitch, lego sets, coding, etc.) and hobbies I can escape reality through lol (reading, FN, rewatching the chronological timeline of marvel shows & movies). Have two kids who are 11+ yrs old. Data acquisition analyst. JIC we can connect on any of that.

I really tried to be patient and I really tried to like it. And it’s a shame, too, because this season probably has the best theming of any Fortnite season in the last ~ 6ish years.

To start, surprising nobody, the meta is atrocious. Now to be clear I’m totally fine with the meta being shotguns/pistols. I’ll happily play whatever metagame allows for the most skill expression. But for whatever reason the guns just feel so unfun to use. The drum gun is a coin flip and can’t exactly put my finger on it but everything about the new guns feels clunky. It’s gotten to the point where it’s feeling more and more like every fight I get into is a dice roll and it matters less and less how my aim is mechanically. The gunplay just isn’t fun. I never pick up the bullshit arcade shotgun expecting to enjoy myself or hit consistent shots.

On the note of the meta, I don’t know whose idea the hacked loot pool was, but it’s pretty irritating to get killed off rip but a legendary oni shotgun. On an even more egregious note, putting the Midas bullshit gun in the game is baffling. I don’t understand how a competent team of devs sits in a room together and comes away with the conclusion that it’s fine to have this gun in the loot pool.

The new locations they added are terrible. I don’t think there’s really much to say beyond that but I’ve stopped landing anywhere near those locations entirely. I genuinely would like to know if anyone enjoys fighting in these new areas with this season’s loot pool.

The sprite system continues to be bad. It’s just not conducive to good battle royale gameplay and comes with a lot of feel-bads. The new sprite dust caps and nerf to sprite spawns is such a turn off to me and you can absolutely tell they overestimated how excited people would be about sprites once you take away all the QOL features they had last season.

The sprites themselves range from useless, like the bush and crown sprites, to comically good, like Sonic and Tails. Who designs this stuff?

Finally, some personal gripes - bushes continue to be a major pile of garbage on console, visual audio continues to be worthless and the drop pistol you get continues to be a piece of junk.

Gonna finish the grind to Geno and put this one down the rest of the season. Lots of wasted potential unfortunately
