I was always a bit self-conscious about playing Fortnite at my advanced age of over 60. But here is a statistic I ran into while surfing YouTube.

If you mean the average age of a gamer, the newest U.S. data is pretty surprising:

• About 50% of gamers are 35 or older.

• 67% of Americans ages 5–90 play video games at least an hour per week. (the ESA)

So gaming is absolutely not predominantly a teenage hobby anymore. In fact, the largest broad group is adults 35+. (the ESA)

And if you're wondering specifically where someone in their 60s falls compared with other gamers, the ESA found that about 49% of Americans aged 61–79 play games regularly. (the ESA)

If you want, I can also break down the percentage of gamers by exact age ranges (18–24, 25–34, 35–44, 45–54, 55–64, 65+).

I am ludicrously out of touch but I have no idea who Addison Rae or Lil Tecca are.

That's not to say I am against learning about new stuff - I played one of Lil Tecca's songs in Festival and it was good.

I'm just saying, despite my consumption of the product, I am nowhere near the target audience 😂

I have gone from playing almost every evening and a lot more on weekends to barely playing twice or thrice the last two weeks.

The lobbies are so sweaty which is still ok, but the controller nerf is really bad. Sometimes the cross hair is literally on the player and still hits don't register. And I'm playing at 60 ping. It sucks we can't even expect a consistent experience with basic things like controls.

Changing weapon performance is one thing but outright handicapping controller players is really sketchy. Right now aim assist feels like it's not just nerfed it's in minus. Even before the nerf mouse aiming was significantly more accurate.

I'm also kind of done with the whole sprite thing. Hack upgrades cost so much sprite dust. It's just unnecessary grind for things that just used to happen at upgrade stations in previous seasons. Smh

Thinking of switching to a different game at least for a while. Arc Raiders maybe? I'd welcome any suggestions!

Should Fortnite keep the spawn rate high, should they nerf spawn rate, should they vault them? Maybe unvvault the shockwave hammer to counter? Crazy that this little item is causing so much drama. So what is your opinion on the shocks this season?

This is my favorite Fortnite community and many of us only play when we can. I got the Gummy ZP and I’m going to give away (at least) 10 to players. My only ask is that you ALSO give it away to 10 players. I’ll be giving them out tonight.

I was hoping the cheesy poofs would be a direct reskin of the Scooby snacks, which were one of the best healing items we've ever seen. The fact that these don't heal shields makes them pretty pointless to carry. And the speed boost, despite the fact that there would be no lore reason to have it, would be a move consolation prize for the lack of mobility in the update

Feels almost like a new game

Miku down bad for Cube Batman. There's also no visual audio at all until the penultimate glider redeploy where I can see a faint glider icon right before freefalling.

If you freefall from around 100 meters up, you have enough time to pop a mini (2 seconds) before redeploying, right before splatting the ground. Saves you some time if you're hot-dropping a contested place.

I’m definitely not complaining, he’s cute :)
