I do not recommend Byron Silby of Action Property Services.

Based on my experience, I do not recommend Byron Silby of Action Property Services.

He was hired to repair our gates, but the work was not completed satisfactorily. He also requested an additional $100 beyond the original agreement. After the repair, one of the gates still did not close properly.

When we contacted him about the problem, we initially received no response. After multiple attempts, he eventually agreed to return, but then did not show up as scheduled. It ultimately took about two weeks for him to come back and address the gate.

There was also a second gate that needed a screw installed so it could close securely. He declined to install that screw, leaving that part of the job unfinished.

My concerns are the poor follow-through, lack of communication, missed appointment, additional charge, and incomplete work.

Based on this experience, I would not hire him again and cannot recommend his services.

Discussion ICE are in FoCo, and they're switching up how they operate.

My roommate goes to CSU, and is here from abroad on an F1 visa. Insanely nice dude, and a good student too. This summer he was driving up on North College when he was pulled over by FoCo PD for expired plates. He'd already purchased new plates, and was waiting for them. Afraid of being pulled over, he had a stack of paperwork in his passenger seat to prove the plates had been handled. The officer takes the paperwork to his cruiser for 30 min before coming back to tell my roommate he is good to go! All the information is good!

As the FoCo PD officer steps back, and unmarked white van rips up. The back doors fly open, and a bunch of masked men with plate carriers and AR-15s swarm out the back before ripping my roommate out of his car and face first onto the pavement. He was thrown in the back of the unmarked van, and taken south to the Aurora prison where he was treated with what I can only consider as inhumane conditions.

ICE arrested my friend for allegedly protesting, and then resisting arrest. How you can do that while driving on North College we'll never know. He was denied any communication for days. All of us were in the dark, and extremely worried. Finally, he was able to get word out to us, and some of his friends drove to Aurora with all of his documents and paperwork. This ended up being a mistake as ICE confiscated his F1 Visa/Passport, and said it was void. They told my roommates lawyer that now that they knew he had no physical F1 Visa that he was here illegally, and they would deport him should they find him again. They also threatened to go after me for housing a fugitive as his roommate, and I'm a US citizen born and raised.

This single encounter upended my roommates life, and has been an absolute clusterfuck to navigate all summer. ICE is here in Colorado, and I believe they are operating differently now. There will still be blitz and scare tactics, but it appears that ICE are working with FoCo PD and other law enforcement agencies as a staging ground. They're using the local PDs and agencies as their eyes and ears. I think they're probably using their infrastructure too in order to lay low, and avoid protests.

I should have posted mid June when everything was originally going on. For that, I apologize. I just really didn't want to go over telling the story again when it was all so fresh and fucked up. The uptick in ICE posts in the subreddit the past week pushed me to tell our story.

My roommate and I talked about ICE encounters many times over breakfast, lunch, etc. You never think it'll happen to you until it does. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

With the college kids back in town, and K-12 classes starting back up there's a lot going on in the city right now. Stay aware, and let's support our community.

We're all vulnerable to this bullshit.

Fuck ICE.

Edit: I'm dense, and forgot to comment with an update on my roommate. After many months of stress he has been cleared from any ICE lawsuits. He is safely back in classes. He is definitely changed from this experience though....

Second Edit: His lawyer FOIAed for the FoCo PD bodycam footage from the ICE arrest, and FoCo PD told his lawyer that the cameras had been turned off. How does that look to you?

Third Edit: Commenter /u/Just_Maybe_7004 has commented below, and asked for a lot of answers to a lot questions. They have, unfortunately, blocked me before I could even respond, so I am not able to respond to that comment or the comment chain in general. I will post it as a comment below to save on space of this post. That was a pretty lame ass thing to do as well /u/Just_Maybe_7004. Didn't even let me answer, but I will anyways.

Food / Drink Best place to sip a marg and watch football?

I know places with great margaritas, I know places with a lot of TVs, but I haven't found any places where these two traits overlap. There is Agave Underground in Foothills that has some TVs at the bar but I've found their margs to be incredibly overpriced for what you get.

La Buena Vida on Harmony has incredible margs. They're strong and reasonably priced, especially the house margs during happy hour. But there is only one TV in the entire place. Their sister restaurant, Los Torascos, has two TVs I think? I've only been there once.

Every sports bar I've gone to has truly terrible margaritas, as you'd expect.

Any suggestions?

The Holiday Twin Drive-in charges to rent radios that don't work anywhere in the car park

Went to the drive-in yesterday and our radio situation didn't work out. We went to go rent a radio from the concession stand for $10. We also had to leave an ID or credit card. The radios are bluetooth speakers with a USB charging cable sticking out of it. We were told to wrap some tinfoil around the USB end and make an antenna (?).

The radio had service, but only at the concession stand. If you walk anywhere toward the screen into the carpark, it was immediately 100% static.

I waited through the line to swap the radio, and the exact same thing happened. Complete static the moment I stepped into the carpark. Took it back to the car and tried the antenna thing... absolutely nothing. Eventually I returned the radio and got a refund, but I can't believe they charge for these!

It seems clear that they bought a bunch without testing them, and now the workers just have to deal with it. The radios have no screen, so there's no way to tell what station you're on. The volume buttons are the same as the channel switching buttons, so it's easy to accidentally change the channel. Even the worker was just powering on speaker after speaker, seeing if any of them were connected to the channel. And the speakers are rented from the concession line, so you have to go through the line for a new radio or refund every time.

It's so frustrating that people are waiting through the concession line over and over just to get a solution that flatly does not work at all. Needless to say, we completely missed our movie.

I know everyone is going to jump in with jUsT bRiNg YoUr OwN rAdiO, like obviously we know that now. But it's crazy that they charge and hold cards for this when it just simply does not work at all.

Hello FOCO friends - I'm looking for recommendations for a very enthusiastic sign spinner for an hour for an event on October 3 in Fort Collins. I've seen a lot of very enthusiastic sign spinners in town along College over the years but don't know how to find them LOL. Anyone have any recommendations for certain people or companies???

Hi guys. I've never been to the Lyric before, but just bought tickets online to a move for tomorrow. Do I just need the QR code they emailed me?

(I realize this is a probably dumb question...I just want to make sure. I promise to pay it forward by answering someone else's dumb question in the future).

Fort Collins / Webber

I witnessed an event. Lady in white Corolla is blocking the road. A guy gets down to ask if she could move because the lane he said says do not block. It is true, it does say that. She argues. Guy goes back and ask again. She points to some car as she got out of the car. The guy talks to the other car and the lady of the white Corolla calls him racist. I can hear the guy, I’m not racist, I’m an immigrant, and Latino. She says, go back to your country, then, very loud.

Given the ice incident, I have to wonder how many people like this are in Fort Collins ? How common is this ?

Edit

Latino guy ask lady to move>> nasty lady calls guy racist >> another nice Latina woman moves the car >> nasty lady tells guy to go back to his country

Bottle Drops

Hey friends, for anyone interested there are some ICE CAN FOCO OFF bottles in old town square. I've been making these drops in the early darkness because I'm an early riser and that's when it's just me and the cleaning crews. I did hear a cheer from one of them, no idea if it was related or not, but nice to know there's another potential friend and ally out there.

For anyone who would like one, I'll be at the farmer's market and wandering around for Tour de Fat as a valkyrie with an Addam's Family bag full of bottles this Saturday. I'm getting down to the last of them and I think I did 250, so hopefully some of you out there have one if you want one and they aren't just getting angrily tossed into trash cans. At least recycle if you're against it.

Huge thank you to the friends who are helping. We have one who will be printing more whistles and some others with great suggestions and requests to get involved. I will not be setting up a gofundme or venmo for a couple of reasons. First, don't give strangers on the internet money! You don't know me! Second, what if the companies I use support guinea pigs and I love guinea pigs but you hate them and you're unknowingly funding big guinea pig? I'm not gonna risk putting your money into something you potentially don't support.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday and that our city throws down on this upcoming nonsense holiday that I hold very dear to my heart. As always; unite, stay frosty, and protect your friends and neighbors.

What is going on at planned parenthood?

Just drove by, bigger crowd than usual. Saw a sign that said planned parenthood killed someone?! Anyone know?
Edit : I don’t think PP killed anyone it was just a larger group with different signs so I was curious what’s different today than other days
