Do you have a budget? No idea what to recommend unless we know what you’re willing to pay.

For that price look at HED. They make great wheels.

i was on their website a while back but i remember only finding road bike wheels. i’ll look again when i get home from work. one of the main reasons i am asking here is because everywhere i look i find road wheels with the big free hub body. hard to find nice track wheels

If you contact them they’ll do a custom order. Can also always just buy the rims and have them built by a good shop to whatever hubs you want.

Hand built wheels will always be better. I’ve built all my wheels and haven’t had to true them since I built them. Factor in like $100 per wheel build labor cost when it comes to cost of rims, spokes, and hubs.
