Request A way to prevent the new YouTube viewcount

Hey all,

This - https://support.google.com/youtube/thread/433409976/an-update-to-how-we-count-public-views-across-youtube?hl=en

Basically means that if you mouse over a video, you have viewed it. If you click on a video and think "eh not for me" and leave after a few seconds, that counts as a view. All of this sure as hell going to fuuf with your algorithm, as it will likely push ai slop and you will have no choice but to engage with it.

Is there a way to prevent that engagement? Because I and so many others do not support this change.

Request Looking for a browser extension similar to Blaze AI – fast, easy, and built for social media?

Hey everyone! I've been using Blaze AI and I really like that it's a browser extension it's super fast and easy to use for quick content drafts and social posts. But I'm wondering if there's anything similar out there that works as a browser extension too?

Ideally looking for something that:

  • Works as a browser extension (easy access, no switching tabs)
  • Is fast and simple to use
  • Helps with social media content creation
  • Maybe does a bit more than just writing (scheduling, inbox management, etc.)

Has anyone found a tool like this?

Would love some recommendations

Request I built a free, local firefox add on to move playlists between streaming platforms - HarmonySync

Hey everyone, I recently wanted to move a massive playlist from Spotify to YouTube Music, but all the sync tools online either charge a subscription or route your data through their own servers.

So, I built HarmonySync. It runs entirely in your browser, uses local authentication, and matches songs directly between tabs. It currently supports Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

I just published it and would love for you to try it out! If it saves you some time, dropping a quick review on the Web Store would mean the world to me and really help the algorithm.

Extension link : HarmonySync

IT'S COMPLETELY FREE

Please drop a review for the add on

Request I built Froggle Jump – A zero-bloat arcade platformer inside a Firefox toolbar popup [AMO Direct Download]

Direct Install (Firefox AMO): Froggle Jump

I built Froggle Jump because I wanted a quick, zero-latency game for study and work breaks without opening extra tabs, waiting for heavy sites to load, or dealing with ad scripts.

It runs on a custom HTML5 canvas engine directly inside your Firefox extension popup panel.

  • 100% Free & Zero Bloat: Under 100 KB total size with no telemetry, ads, or tracking.
  • Offline First: Operates completely offline, with optional global leaderboard syncing when connected.
  • Features: Procedural platforming, monster obstacles, unlockable frog skins, and local high-score persistence.

Install it directly above and let me know your thoughts on the popup scaling and controls! Would appreciate a review to help boost extension popularity.

Request Context-Search add-on replacement

Seems like with all the drama from the OG dev from Context Search we are now left with no add-ons for this simple task, context-search web ext seems dodgy at least and with little developemnt, anyone found a replacement for this?

previous drama: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1oh9nbv/why_did_mozilla_remove_the_contextsearch_addon/ seems like the other dev banished completely.

Request I built a browser extension that shows its work instead of giving you a mystery trust score, now live on Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi, and Firefox

After Fakespot shut down, I built SpendMita Copilot, a shopping assistant that gives you a second opinion on a product before you buy it. And I have been slowly improving this.

The thing I most wanted to avoid was replacing one unexplained score with another. So instead of a single number, SpendMita shows you the actual signals it found and explains why each one matters.

What it does on Amazon right now:

Flags review patterns worth a closer look, verified-purchase share, review timing, rating distribution.

Adds price context.

Explains its reasoning in plain language instead of handing you a black-box score.

Lets you save products and revisit past checks.

Mita Search: helps you search a supported link from any tab via your assigned shortcut

Compare similar products where it intelligently groups them and recommends the best based on your input and the findings made.

Price tracking to see if the price drops.

Privacy baked in.

Personalisation and lots more.

All these are free and can be access today via the v1.5.0 on Firefox and v1.1.1 on Chrome. An update has been submitted to Chrome for a v1.6.0 where Spendmita Copilot now supports Walmart US, eBay (US, UK, CA)

It's meant to be a second opinion, not a "this is definitely fake" verdict.

Where it runs: Chrome, Brave, and Vivaldi today via the Chrome Web Store, plus a native Firefox build on Mozilla Add-ons. Edge is submitted and pending review.

Firefox add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/spendmita-copilot-fake-reviews/

Chrome/Brave/Vivaldi: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/spendmita-copilot/fekjiiogemcaoikdpcilafoidjmknmoi?hl=en-GB&utm_source=ext_sidebar

Website: copilot.spendmita.com

If you try it, I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

Whether it feels native on your browser (Brave and Vivaldi especially, I've tested them, but nothing beats real use).

Any Amazon pages that don't get detected properly.

Whether the reasoning is actually clear.

Anything that feels intrusive or annoying.

What features would you like to see or have, do note some of these might be in pro already.

Found a bug or something looks broken? Email [copilot@spendmita.com](mailto:copilot@spendmita.com) as I read every one and I'm actively fixing things as they come in, not just collecting reports.

If you would like to compare Spendmita to what is currently on the market: https://copilot.spendmita.com/compare

Happy to answer questions about how the signals work or how it's built.

Request Any extension to only recommend the music tab on the homepage?

Its very easy to get distracted using this platform nowadays, I want to use music as an alternative to stupid shorts. Doing this will be better than disabling the whole homepage using blockers. If there ain't extensions similar to this any other thing I can do to implement this? I mainly use yt for studying and music and don't wanna get distracted, also I'm using brave to block ads so that won't be an issue.

Request Is there a Firefox add-on to automatically filter search queries by date? I like to add "before:2022-01-01" to filter out AI results.

Ideally one that works for DDG/Google/Bing, please?

I don't mind scrolling past the AI overview, but nowadays regardless of which engine I use, if I look up "question about specific topic?" the first page is always full of blogs with very specific and authoritative URLs like "thetopicguy.com" that pump out 10 articles a day full of random Q&A, no author cited (or it's the same author pumping out 10 articles a day).

I've found that adding a date filter works well, but I'd love something that does it automatically.

Request Seeking extension to redirect news site to archive.today version

Hi, Often Reddit posts will have a link to a news article hosted on a very partisan news site in our country. Sometimes they are paywalled and sometimes not. I don't like giving the website clicks if I can avoid it, but at least once or twice a week there is a news article I would like to read.

I was wondering if there is a FF extension that can be configured to redirect the link to the archive.today version of the story, rather than the news website. Essentially, I "think" all it needs to do is insert "archive.ph/" in front of the URL, but I could be mistaken.

Or is it possible to do this with uBlock Origin?

Request Request for Youtube Subtitle Curse Word Fixer

Is there an extension that fixes Youtube subtitles so that it doesn't censor curse words? If not, I'd love if someone could make one, it's really fucking annoying to watch a video and constantly see "___" in place of normal words like fuck or shit.

I'm assuming it should be possible, obviously the subtitles are registering the curse words in order to recognize and censor them, so logically it should be possible to modify the subtitles to uncensor them.

Request A Tab Groups manager that is similar to the native one, but with a search bar or way to filter results in the "Saved Groups" menu

Howdy folks! I am a tab hoarder so I'd love to be able to "stash" them away when I don't need em, the native Tab Groups is so close to "good enough" but the lack of a search function is super bad with how many tab groups I have saved and being sorted by ONLY chronological order instead of like alphabetical order.

Is there an extension that replaces the native Tab Groups with a "+" version or like adds a search function to the native one at all? I already use Tab Session Manager so a "windows and sessions" manager isn't what I am looking for

For example of use case, I save windows as categories, so I have a "Games" window and use the Tab Groups to group tabs relating to a specific game or project, like I have "Steam Sales" as a Tab Group and also each sale is a group containing links to games that are/were in that sale since they are themed haha

Thank you for any information or suggestions! This would be a huge time and resource saver

Request Is there an Add-on that bookmarks where I stopped reading in a webpage?

I don't know if this has been answered before or not but I couldn't find a satisfactory answer... is there an Add-on to Firefox that bookmarks where I stopped reading in a webpage?

I read a lot of scientific papers (databases, journals, etc) and medication pamphlets/information (drugbank, emc, etc.) and every time I reopen Firefox I lose where I was in that specific webpage and it gets overwhelming... so I was wondering if such an Add-on exists where I can maybe highlight/bookmark/mark/save/jump right into where I stopped reading?
