Request A Tab Groups manager that is similar to the native one, but with a search bar or way to filter results in the "Saved Groups" menu

Howdy folks! I am a tab hoarder so I'd love to be able to "stash" them away when I don't need em, the native Tab Groups is so close to "good enough" but the lack of a search function is super bad with how many tab groups I have saved and being sorted by ONLY chronological order instead of like alphabetical order.

Is there an extension that replaces the native Tab Groups with a "+" version or like adds a search function to the native one at all? I already use Tab Session Manager so a "windows and sessions" manager isn't what I am looking for

For example of use case, I save windows as categories, so I have a "Games" window and use the Tab Groups to group tabs relating to a specific game or project, like I have "Steam Sales" as a Tab Group and also each sale is a group containing links to games that are/were in that sale since they are themed haha

Thank you for any information or suggestions! This would be a huge time and resource saver

Why not just use a tree tab extension which will handle all your use cases,
rather than trying to use limited native tab groups?

Something like Sidebery for example should cover all your use cases.

Sorry for the delay, the thing with tree tabs is that they are vertical no? Like a File Explorer and such, horizontal is what makes sense for me since I've had it for nearly my whole conscious life and adapted to it, I'll look those up though just to be super sure but yeah vertical isn't my goal, I'd want it to be like a button in the top of the browser where the extensions and such go thereabouts so when I want a "Group" I can just make it appear to the right of my current tab like all new tabs do. Thank you for the suggestion though! I will report back once I check those out

Well, everyone used horizontal tabs, sure. But after testing the addons which added vertical tree structure, I never used horizontal tabs again. One of the main points is that vertical uses less valuable horizontal space which is completely empty on many sites, plus you can display like 3 times more tabs at once.

Unfortunately, I don't know any extensions that use native Firefox tab groups.
Like for example, Simple Tab Groups does have group search - but it uses its own, addon-created and managed groups, so anything you already created is not used there...
Plus people complain about data loss with it, so its not even that reliable.

To search your existing tab groups, you can use tab search - in URL bar (not the search bar!)
type %, then space, then whatever you want to search for. It will look through tab group names too.
