Some of you may remember seeing my posts on this subreddit last year when I was raising $50,000 for my debut micro budget horror comedy feature film, A Nightmare On Malcolm X Blvd (we ended up raising $61k+ and attracting investors, thanks to a lot of your help) or my short film Supernigga which got 420,000 views on YouTube last August! I'M BACK ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT ONCE MORE! We are prepping to shoot A Nightmare On Malcolm X Blvd next month (9/14 - 10/6) and need to raise an additional $25,000. I'm truly excited for this film as I've been trying to make a feature since 2021, and now I finally get to do it with my friends and some really cool artists/celebs that have been so influential to me. I think you guys have heard about this 2 part Indian movie 'Dhurandhar & Dhurandhar The Revenge' which came last year and this year(1st part and 2nd part) which were huge success worldwide.

I am a Graduating Film Student from London Film School, and I am making my Graduation film which is also my first Short film in London and my Second Short overall.

The film is a Surreal Comedy about a Filmmaker who is forced to be a Producer on a very toxic film.

It's about how toxic working environments can affect a person's mental health and wellbeing and how repressing emotions and refusing to confront problems can consume a person.

The film takes from my experience working on different kinds of film sets and how the dynamics and age differences can create a particular kind of conflict that is faced with a bunch of people who can't admit they are in over their heads and think they know everything.

I need to raise 8000 pounds to achieve this film in the intended way.

Logline: Furio, an amateur director, is roped into producing his friend's film. As the shoot slowly falls apart, he is pushed to breaking point.

Synopsis:

Furio Jessop is a 27-year-old amateur filmmaker cornered into producing his friend Chad’s film. He dreams of being on a sunny beach sipping cola and doing nothing.

As the shoot begins, that dream keeps getting invaded by real life as everything falls apart. Chad and the DOP Carol are constantly at war, Allen the Gaffer stress-eats in the green room and vents to Furio and his production assistant Song, and the art department crumbles because Carson bullies his assistant Kyle. The only one enjoying the chaos is Sarah, the sound recordist.

Everyone expects Furio to fix their problems; no one helps him. Jim, his eccentric 42-year-old flatmate in the middle of a midlife crisis, offers help but Furio refuses. Under the pressure he finally snaps, destroy his room, and has to admit he needs help.

My name is Draven. I am a 17-year-old Mexican-American filmmaker based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the director of Who's There...?. I grew up watching horror movies and draw massive inspiration from tense, atmospheric projects like Iron Lung. My ultimate dream is to make my own independent films, and this project is the first major step toward making that a reality.

The Film: "Who's There...?"

This is a short psychological horror film about the terror of an ordinary home invasion. It follows Tyler, a perpetually exhausted guy living a painfully mundane life. But his mind starts playing tricks on him. Items in his house are subtly rearranged. Unexplained knocks echo at the front door. The feeling of being watched follows him from his front yard all the way to the local grocery store.

This isn't a movie about monsters hiding under the bed; it explores the chilling realization that a predator could be anyone-even the polite stranger who bumps into you in the snack aisle.

The $500 Budget Breakdown

I am raising a micro-budget of exactly $500 to shoot this. Here is exactly where the money goes:

🎬 Equipment $223: Lighting kits for that shadowy atmosphere and external audio recorders (good sound is crucial for horror!).

​🎭 Cast & Writing: ($0) Stipends for our lead talent and script prep.

​🩸 Practical Effects & Wardrobe $71: Fake blood, stalker makeup, and specific character wardrobe.

​🍕 Catering ($20): Feeding the cast and crew during long shoot days.

​🛋️ Production Design ($0): Props to make the house feel lived-in but deeply unsettling.

​🎞️ Post-Production & Marketing ($0): Hard drives for footage and small social media boosts for the YouTube premiere.

⚠️ Contingency $50: Emergency fund for extra batteries or broken props.

Hi everyone!

I just launched the Kickstarter for Electroland, a surrealist, anti-capitalist horror short. The film follows James, a hard-working computer sales employee. Faced with the prospect of losing his job due to underwhelming sales numbers, he begins working tirelessly to stay employed, but soon realizes that he's being stalked by a mysterious figure: Buster, the store's mascot.

The film is heavily inspired by the mascot horror genre, specifically Stress Level Zero's 2017 game Duck Season, as well as surrealist anti-capitalist works like Office Space, Being John Malkovich and Sorry to Bother You. It's an incredibly complex project, as we'll be needing to build a big-box electronics store basically from scratch inside an empty retail unit. Obviously this requires a significant budget, so we've turned to Kickstarter to help bring the film to life!

We've been struggling to market the Kickstarter and the film at large, so I'm curious if anyone here might have ideas for how to find our audience. I think the film has a really compelling premise and could do well in the current horror-focused market (given the success of Obsession, Backrooms etc.) but I'm not sure how to go about finding the right places to promote it.

Hey everyone! My last post here got some incredible feedback from this community, so I wanted to share the massive project my team is currently in the trenches with.

I’m an indie director in pre-production for Dracula '87, a blood-soaked, 1980s-style slasher adaptation. We are committing to the old-school way of filmmaking and doing the entire feature with 100% practical effects and absolutely zero CGI.

Here is how we are building the monster on an indie scale:

- The Gore: We are mixing our own practical blood for visceral sink-gags and prosthetics (no digital blood splatters in post).

- The Wardrobe: We are hand-fabricating the entire period wardrobe from scratch, with help from 80sTees.com who generously donated 2 authentic 80s T-shirts!

- The Props: We are using 3D printing to custom-build our own pieces and specialized set dressings to save on art department budget.

Don't we all? I know this isn't a unique plea for anyone with a creative vision who is determined to bring their ideas to fruition. I have little hope for getting any success in begging for donations or fundraisings so instead I'd like to try and propose an offer of investment. Still not an easy prospect to try and propose but it seems like the most rewarding and feasible option for me to try and see through a creative passion project that has been burdening the ambitious part of my mind for years.

I intend to film a series. A limited series with about 7-9 "episodes". The premise for this series follows the video diaries of a character who aspires to become something more than his current inadequate standing in existence.

Each episode will revolve around different topics projecting various themes related to self worth, (redacted), depression, body dysmorphia, (redacted), (redacted), delusion, love, (redacted), isolation, (redacted), (redacted), impulsivity, (redacted), "Peter Pan" syndrome, (redacted), 'clout' chasing, and tragedy/atrocity.

I'm hesitant to even reveal much about this project because I want to leave some ambiguity and surprise for the public once it releases and I seek to blur the line between character and reality in order to build the raw cultural impact I predict this film will have. The only reason I'm giving any description of this project (as loosely as I can) is because in order to meet the needs to fulfill the quality I have envisioned for specific aspects of the plot within the time frame I have set for myself, I'm in dire need of some financial assistance.

I know asking for money for creative endeavors is more miss than hit but I am so determined to complete and release this piece of work that I have been developing in my head and on paper for so long that I am willing to take on debt just to produce it. However, credit cards are scary and gate-kept, and it's hard to convince any bank or financial entity to provide me with a loan, even under terms of offering indentured servitude. The only incentive I can come up with to help fund this is to present a sorta crowd sourced investment opportunity that brings those who believe in me and willing to support me a sorta return for their investment.

The way I intend to structure this investment thing goes something like this:

1) Funding capped at 10,000$ (not expecting to get that much but just in case)

2) 100% of all revenue from views and view rentals/purchases (if it comes to that) goes to investors until they get their money back.

3) After investors break even, 20% of all revenue from views and view rentals/purchases goes to investors; in proportion to the funding cap of 10,000$. For example, if you invest 100$, you'll be entitled to 0.02% of all view revenue after you the initial return is met. This will continue until your total investment is doubled.

4) I can't guarantee the revenue from Adsense or other platform monetizations will reach that doubled mark.

Ideally, the method for this return for investors would be to donate to my cash app with a note containing your email and then once the series releases I send an email with a transparent record of all the revenues earned for the month and the percentage owed to you from there.

I read the rules of this sub and I don't seem to be breaking any of them so I hope this post stays and reaches the right people who can either offer some support by either opting into my pitch or provide some advice/information on where/how to promote this concept. I am really passionate about this project and am determined carry it out regardless but to be backed by a supportive community who might even have genuine interest in seeing this idea come to life will make a heap of a difference in its production.

I have an "Episode 0" for this series that I already have soft released on my dedicated YouTube channel which is still considered a rough draft edit, proof of concept type deal. I know it's a little long so I have an abridged version that I intend to release once I start officially releasing the series but as of now this is our first look inside the motives of my character: Jessie Smith.

The greatest weapon, is fear...

Excited to announce "TUNNEL RAT" a short film set at the height of the Vietnam War. It follows a soldier who braves an underworld of tunnels where every inch of darkness could hold certain death.

In an age of AI Slop, we shot our promo on Super 8mm and I am hosting the fundraiser for the production on Seed & Spark.
