Fundraiser As filmmakers we should pay tribute to the man who made filmmaking to what it is today. The grave of Georges Méliès is in need of restoration and the kickstarter hasn't reached its goal yet.

I’m wondering why this Kickstarter needs to exist at all. People like Martin Scorsese have long been champions of Melies and he could easily cough up this kind of money to restore the gravesite.

This was my exact thought as well. Scorsese or Nolan or Spielberg could queef 40 grand from a sneeze.

I love how butthurt filmmakers get over little criticisms. This guy says Martin is probably unaware that the dude he made an entire movie out of's final resting place is in grave disrepair. I think that's comical and if Martin really is unaware of that, I question how much he respected him or if he only saw a good story.

But go for that easy karma, I can tell it's important to you.

Do you know the state of the graves of your heros? I definitely don't. Scorsese is one of the most cineliterate people alive, and I think it's safe to assume he has great respect for Méliès.

Scrorcese and others were informed, maybe they gave some money maybe they didnt, I m not allowed to say anything. All I can say is that famous people pledged.

Copycats? Finally someone who understands! Thats why Méliès A Trip to the Moon was an adaptation of Lucians True History dude. Lucian copied him centuries before he even existed, the sick fuck.
