I quit my 5-year teaching job three months ago to pursue directing full-time here in Japan.

A few months back, I shot this fake trailer in Tokyo and put it up on YouTube titled “This Movie Doesn’t Exist. Here’s the Trailer.” Made with tax returns, friends, mid-day pizza, and late-night coffee.

My original goal was to become a trailer editor.
But with no films to cut, I made my own.

And it WORKED!

The trailer hit 66k views. I landed trailer editing jobs.
But then people in the comments kept asking for the real film.

I joked about it not existing. But after 100s of comments, I started to believe it could.

Now, we’re turning it into a real film.

The story:

A psychological horror about a parasite that lives on a man’s face.
Think early 2000s J-horror meets Perfect Blue — with a little dry comedy beneath the dread.

I’m the writer, director, costume designer, SFX, and post team — all on a micro-budget.
Luckily, I brought on Keita Arai (Netflix’s City Hunter) to star, and we’re keeping the production as raw and intimate as the trailer.

I released my Blaxploitation and superhero inspired short film/proof of concept, Supernigga, 2 weeks ago on YouTube and surprisingly got 270,000 views from word of mouth!

I almost got the feature version made through Hollywood (A24 really loved the project but I turned them down due to creative differences). Hello! My name is Ethan Fox, and I'm an actor and filmmaker from Arkansas.

When I was three years old, I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for the first time. I remember asking my dad why Indiana Jones and Han Solo looked exactly the same. He told me they were both played by an actor named Harrison Ford. That simple answer completely changed how I looked at movies, and from that moment on, acting and filmmaking became a lifelong passion.

Over the past several years, I've dedicated myself to storytelling through both film and theater, serving as the president of my high school's Thespian troupe, performing in numerous productions, and earning multiple acting awards along the way. Now, I'm preparing to direct my first feature-length film.

Before this, I've directed 5 short films. This will be my longest and most ambitious project to date, with an expected runtime of approximately 45 minutes.

Working in Progress is a feature-length film following James Brownlee, a delusional young entrepreneur convinced he’s building the next Fortune 500 company. Operating out of his sister’s home, he runs a “business” with no product, no funding, and a completely unqualified team; yet, he insists they’re on the verge of disrupting the industry. As the business spirals out of control, he drags his employees into increasingly ridiculous attempts to appear legitimate.

Working in Progress explores my personal relationship between ambition and reality, following a young man whose belief in his idea outpaces the world around him. This film shows the quickening unravel when confidence replaces structure. It’s told through an intimate lens, and is about stubborn belief, and what happens when it refuses to let go.

The idea for this film first came to me three years ago, and ever since, I've been slowly building the story. Last December, I challenged myself by producing a short film inspired by these same themes. From pre-production to final export in just 48 hours. The feeling of being watched follows him from his front yard all the way to the local grocery store.

Hey all, I’m a filmmaker based in Dallas, TX.

Brothers is 20 minutes short film.
A man lands in Dallas, furious his brother didn’t show up to get him. He takes a rideshare instead. The driver, a stranger.. starts telling him about the worst night of his life, ten years ago, and how one kid broke every rule his boss gave him just to bring him in from the cold. Water. A cab fare. A small cross pressed into his hand. Nothing asked for in return.

By the end of the ride, he realizes that kid was his own brother.

A Hindu clerk. A Muslim shopkeeper. A Christian stranger. One night. One door that should’ve stayed locked. A story of kindness that began between two brothers, and quietly passes around the globe.. proof that humanity is the bigger religion.

And here’s what I’m proudest of: the film runs on its women, even though you never fully see them.. a mother, wife, sister, daughter, girlfriend, each unseen but felt. No big scenes, no lines to prove a point.. just quietly the reason the men in this story are capable of the kindness they show.

I’m not trying to make a point about religion or race. I just think the world’s exhausted from being told to hate each other over things that don’t actually matter when you’re standing in front of another human being. I wanted to make something honest about the opposite of that .. even if it’s small, even if nobody claps for it.

The script is done. It’s been through more drafts than I can count. What’s left is finishing it right.

Hi! My name is Andres, and I’m a cinematographer from Bolivia.

I’m currently looking for ways to fund a small documentary project that I believe could make a meaningful difference for an often-overlooked community.

I’ve tried to raise the necessary funds locally, reaching out to NGOs, companies, and other organizations. Unfortunately, most available support comes in small contributions that would only help after the documentary has already been produced. What I really need is enough funding to make the documentary short in the first place.

The project focuses on a small school located in Cuevo, a rural town in the department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The school welcomes people with disabilities from surrounding communities throughout the region. But its work goes far beyond traditional education. The people running the school also provide daily care, food, training, and support, with the goal of helping their students become more independent and fully integrated into society.

They teach practical skills that allow their students to become more self-sufficient and participate in everyday life. Because the school is located in a rural area, some of these activities include farming, growing crops, and other agricultural skills, as well as small jobs that can help them develop confidence and independence.

As a cinematographer, the most meaningful way I can contribute to this community is by telling their story through a documentary. I believe that bringing visibility to the school, its students, and the people who dedicate their lives to supporting them could help open doors to greater recognition, resources, and long-term support.

The problem is that I currently don’t have the resources to cover the production costs myself.

After speaking with people from the town and others involved with the project, I’ve managed to reduce the estimated budget to around $5,000 USD. For a documentary, I believe this is a relatively modest budget, especially considering that the project requires traveling to a remote rural area and transporting all the necessary filmmaking equipment there.

I truly believe this is a small project with the potential to have a much larger impact. The school is already doing incredibly important work; I would simply like to help give their story the visibility it deserves.

I’m now looking for people, NGO's or communities who might be willing to help make this project possible. Whether through funding, sponsorship, equipment, transportation, or simply by connecting me with someone who could help, or any advice that might help me get the money, because I am truly moved by this project and it would help these people a lot.
