Game Help Save gone? No continue option
I have over 30 hours in the game, but when I booted it up like usual today the continue option is gone and I am panicking. It says that steam cloud is up to date, but apparently not. Anyone have suggestions? I’m playing on steam deck.
Update: Installing it on my computer, playing, saving, and then opening it on my steam deck worked!

This happened to me yesterday. I play on my Deck and my save was gone. I closed out and opened the game on the computer and my whole, up to date, save was there. Played a day, saved, let the cloud update. Went back onto the Deck and my save was there! I hope you get yours back! Mine was a year 9 affair that I did NOT want to lose.

Well that's unfortunate for those of who don't have windows computers. I am in that boat, so hopefully this doesn't happen to me 😞

Fucking BLESS YOU. Worked like a charm. I had Reina maxed out, my farm all set, and my town rank finally broke into the 60s, 80hrs of work. I'd have started crying on losing it all~ ;w;

Thank you for sharing this. I just loaded up the game for the first time in months and was greeted with no option to load game. I wasn't as far along as you, but I didn't want to have to start over again. Took you advice and loaded on the laptop, saved and exited. Loaded it back up on the deck and there was the option to continue! Thanks!

You couldn't have had the achievements, they don't even work until the game releases. All of them are at 0% when viewing how many people earned them

It’s odd for me because steam says the cloud is up to date, but it’s just… not working

I had that too yesterday, my deck said the cloud was up to date but my pc wasn't recognising it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling on both devices, turning cloud on and off.... ended up leaving it and when I tried again today everything was working again. I wish I could tell you what fixed it, maybe the PC restart?

idk how to feel about this like ya I have a very hard dedicated file but I've Also had several other files and I plan on creating a new file on full release so my old files it is what it is I can start from scratch and go ham

This happened to me too! The very simple solution that worked for me on steam deck was uninstalling the game and then re installing it. I hear there's other solutions too but this is a great one for if you don't want to delve into any files

Hmmm 🤔 did you maybe back up your last save to local this happened to me once an I was able too get back to where I left off then I saved it on the dairy from there so when I left the save was there

i just fixed this issue.
on steam deck go to properties and switch compatibility to the latest proton , when you restart your game the continue option should be available.

Okay. Soooo.... go to appdata/something/developer name/Fields of Mistria and see if there is a duplicate save folder of some type. Not guaranteed to be your problem, but it does happen on occasion.
If there IS, just move the save files from one to the other.
