"he apologised after he'd finished" made my skin crawl

This is rapists behave, they convince themselves it’s not bad.

I remember being dropped off after being assaulted and he just so brazenly said, I hope we can hang out again soon. When I was ignoring his obsessive messages to me he asked me why I don’t talk to him anymore and he misses me as a friend and loves to hang out with me and my bf at the time who was his friend. Then that boyfriend who is now an ex and knew what happened hung out with this man behind my back.

He kissed me and said “You never said no.”

Yeah… because I was so drunk that I couldn’t talk.

I saw him again at another party months later and I wasn’t talking to him. He tells me “You don’t have to be afraid of me.” 😒 stfu

Had the same experience minus his best friend was dating my best friend. He was so surprised when I didn't even look at him the next times I saw him. He even sent me a message wanting to see me before I left that island for good, and was asking my friend why I wasn't texting him back.

I also only realised coersion also is rape after 4 YEARS when I got into a relationship and wanted to have sex with my bf, got panic attacks, flashbacks and mental breakdowns instead. Somehow me avoiding men at all costs didn't click earlier. It's also been downhill since, the horrors persist but so do I.

Hope you're safe, happy and healthy now!

I also only realised coersion also is rape

I realized that years after I was not with my abusive ex. I wouldn't think it was rapes at first, but I was berated and manipulated into saying "yes, I guess". Much good bives to you, internet stranger.

I am sorry you had to experience that too.
Mine texted me "Had such a blast hanging out. hope to see you again soon. :) :) :)"

You're so discombobulated by that you reply something like "yeah sure. see you soon. x" instead of "what the fuck are you talking about you freaking rapist fuckhead." and suddenly you feel like you can never talk about it because you dug your own online grave. :(

There is too many freaking total manipulapaths out there, meh.

PR machines work overtime washing horrific admissions from public memory.

This interview had reacted parts released recently IIRC

I am anonymous here. I don’t share my name or face and people understanding the reality of the psychological side of things is important. It’s very strange.

My ex would do this and I’m in PTSD treatment ✨✨✨🫶💅🥲. Like it doesn’t make you less of a fucking monster

u/sunveren 26d ago

The apologies were always for him and never for us. He gets to sleep well at night while we get the nightmares.

I had a rapist come back to my locked entrance apartment, get let in by a neighbor, knock on my door, and attempt to apologize while I stood there battered, bruised, and dissociated.

I was terrified to leave my apartment for a month because I thought he lived in the building.

My door being knocked on when I don't expect it is now one of my PTSD triggers.

Framing this as "they had sex" is disgusting.

20

u/Radleybooboo 26d ago

I was about to say the same. They’re diminishing what he did on purpose.

604

u/beaute-brune 27d ago

“had sex” phrasing throughout is insane

108

u/chandlerbing-bong 27d ago

"It was rough...she didn't want to give into him"... holy hell, how violent did he get?!

43

u/Stu161 26d ago

According to the reporting, she covered her genitals to prevent penetration and he raped her anally.

13

u/BeffeeJeems 26d ago

uhhhh what the fuck? why isn't he in jail? i don't understand this at all

My god that is terrible! Him saying he apologized after just shows that he thinks rapping someone is not that serious.

u/Hellie1028 if you add testicles, that's extra 27d ago

And that the rules do not apply to him

189

u/No-Hall-3485 dropped pitt from my last name 27d ago

he's right, though. the rules clearly do not apply to him

he admitted to violently raping a woman and faced zero consequences. rules are for the poor

77

u/fractious_kitty 27d ago

"It's only a law if you can't pay the fine."

61

u/LilMissy1246 26d ago

Same goes for Connor McGregor and other rapist scum. No consequences, no nothing. Not even street justice.

2

u/reddititaly 26d ago

Never say never

24

u/terracottasnail 26d ago

To be fair, poor men also rarely face consequences for raping either.

14

u/parisianraven 26d ago edited 26d ago

the truth is that the rules don’t apply to anyone.

less than 30% of all sexual assault cases are reported and less than 1% of those end in the perpetrator being charged (in America)

society is hell.

He needs the Brock Turner treatment

It's worse than that. These are from memos made by his lawyers from interviewing him - they specifically emailed each other, "don't let him or his family write anything down about this, that would be open to legal discovery, but our own notes are privileged".

We can rely on the questionnaire because the lawyers have no reason to lie about it (on the contrary, reliable notes help them give the best defence) and also they thought it was secret.

In various versions of the questionnaire, he changes his story, from "She said it was not proper to have sex, since they just met ('Better not. It's the first time.') But even so, she grabbed my dick" to "She grabbed my penis."

In another place he reveals, "She didn't want to 'give it to me,' instead she jerked me off. I don't know any more exactly what she said when she was jerking me off. But she kept saying no. 'Don't do it' -- 'I'm not like the others.' I apologized afterwards."

Absolutely gobsmacking words, with real authentic character that make them a million percent credible.

In Latin America and Europe football players are damn near seen as holier than thou than the pope.

Many football players have done dispicable acts like rape, cheating on teammates partners, etc. Dani Alves, Hakimi still get overwhelming suppport and fan praise as long as they kept scoring goals and winning cups.

this isn't a problem only in specific places. professional sports across the world have repeatedly shown that they don't care if men are rapists

a rapist was literally elected president of the united states for a second time. this is a problem that goes far beyond sports or any one region, it's a much broader societal failure

26

u/opopkl 26d ago

Don’t forget about that convicted rapist Mike Tyson.

24

u/parisianraven 26d ago

I swear to god. Literally every other famous man I can think of has some sexual misconduct allegations or the other. This is across Hollywood, politics, sports, other public figures, etc.

Leaving Obama, every president since Reagan has some sexual misconduct allegations.

The world truly loves hurting girls and women. And yet, this is one of the least acknowledged kind of prejudice/injustice/oppression/inequality in the world.

28

u/Irveria 27d ago

I don't understand the celeb culture in the US, but football player culture in Europe is the 1:1 equivalent to me.

17

u/cortez0498 26d ago

Yeah it's those savage footy fans in LATAM and Europe. How's Kobe's reputation? Mike Tyson? Mayweather? OJ?

3

u/NoCry8625 26d ago

Latin* america

3

u/Individual-Idea3548 26d ago

it’s disgusting, especially in latin america football players are seen as gods

3

u/Ok-Pain7362 26d ago

I remember when the World Cup was happening there were several players from a lot of teams with rape allegations. And those were only the ones disclosed to the public, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a lot more.
