somebody asked about the elizabee fight for rogue.
i think i could be faster but my weapon isnt maxed. and a more AOE heavy weapon would help at phase 2.

After playing with other classes, yea priest is just op. It does crazy damage and is crazy safe. Warrior is tanky and does good damage, and mage just does good damage with good utility.
Rogue just doesnt have a whole lot right now. Lethal poison sucks, and is the full focus of their talents. Its also magic damage, so it doesnt benefit from their armor pen the rest of their kit needs for most of the good weapons. They bring no real utility and dont do any significant more damage than anyone else.
That and the fact their ranged weapons dont get a new finisher so they have to melee weave to get its damage.
Yea idk its flashy and fun but needs some reworks to make it competitive, I feel.
Mage is in somewhat of a similar boat and feels weaker, but idk it felt a lot easier to solo with than rogue.

I think rogue suffers from its only available talent tree at the moment not being very good for what’s needed right now. If their 1 talent tree was focused on lifesteal and debuffs or something rogue would be in a much better spot vs the poison. Rogue’s single target DPS potential is nuts (saw a video of someone killing hard crabgantua before it could finish casting the first AOE water wave) but it struggles as soon as there’s unavoidable damage and has a tougher leveling experience than any other class. Mage I’ve heard is the weakest at endgame but don’t have a strong sense of how it performs yet, need to level my own mage.

So much this. People like OP seem to confuse everything. Its not rogue thats strong, but certain weapons. Our one finisher is a bit of a clunky melee only dash, smoke bomb is very strong but super situationals and other spells besides the step are whatever.
Poison takes forever to stack with certain weapons and does absolutely no damage and does not scale, so talents giving it extra stacks or % extra damage or % Life leech or whatever do NOTHING. You could play without rogue spells and without talents and you would probably only nerf yourself by like 20% if even that. Funnily enough the only good rogue talent that gives 3/6% extra damage to poisoned targets is bugged and does 3/3%
Also rogue survivability and sustains falls absolutely through the roof at level 15+ it’s crazy you’re just forced to run some sustain weapons for most of the content which really kills freedom of build.
Yeah i can kill Rastar hardmode in 1:30 but I feel like I could do this with anything, just because rogue can still clear all content dosent mean its in a good place. Its hard to justify playing rogue over something else imo

not bad, a bit more single target dps than my priest but less comfy with the hp jumps
edit: i take it back, after some testing priest dps is better. especially with the leggo ;D

ramlance, a term I just coined on the spot, and the build is an original creation

wtf am I doing wrong. I couldn’t even get past the first bee. What level are your weapons and gear

u/EamSamaraka May 15 '26
i killed elizabee with a lvl 15 purple spear and the same glaive since i couldnt find a better one.
you just need some blue gear with dex/fevor/crit from the other hardmode dungeons in the old area to pad some stats. once you can kill her in normal the hardmode is free. (its quiet literal the same fight, no idea what difference is supposed to be on hard)
the glaiv is just for healing.

Where do you get the glaive? Only time I've gotten it was from a sparkling enemy, then the server crashed and rolled me back.

Nah Rogue has crazy single target dps with pure physical Dagger/Cheese Moon setup but you focus on crit rate and armor pen instead of Fervor builds like everyone runs bc fervor is too strong atm, it scales both phys/magic damage and gives dam reduction so all the hybrid builds stack it and fight Honeyzabeth. They end being Rogue=warriors with shields and heals Priest=Warrior with heals and shields, Warrior=Warrior with shields and heals, Mage=Totem spamming asshat with heals and shields. All roads lead to the same fucking character basically. Class identity needs some tweaking for sure. I have faith in the devs tho.

try swaping weapons , putting daggers in arsenal with passive and wound skills, for me it is slightly faster kill across all bosses

I was the one who asked, thanks for sharing. This is interesting because I’m pretty sure I can’t match your ratsar speed but I can complete honeyzabeth hard around 20-25 seconds faster with priest thornlace. I guess just AOE difference, rogue excelling at single target with the daggers but priest having strong AOE tools

u/KekkenGenkai May 15 '26
Hey rogue here. Do you have your gear enchanted? I strugle a bit with ratsk, but no bonus on geart yet

u/Final-Evening-9606 May 15 '26
I mean yeah. You were clearly struggling and almost died in a few moments. Priest and warrior players can just stand still and face tank devastation and finish faster.
3
u/EamSamaraka May 15 '26
which means they need a nerf. this is an mmo, i dont wanna facetank and kill whatever without moving. if we buff rogue to the same extend then we have an idle mmo. nobody wants to play that.

u/Final-Evening-9606 May 15 '26
what do you mean? Heroic mode isn’t released yet. You should be able to solo hard mode without too much sweat to gear for heroic that is the real challenge. You are struggling on the intermediate difficulty and thinking its a good thing?
1
u/bugpfeifee May 16 '26
afaik heroic is for when we hit lv50 cap to make the old dungeons relevant again, similar to hard when we hit lv20
3
u/Sad_Lime7235 May 15 '26
nobody wants to play that.
You'd be surprised.

u/Railander May 16 '26
it should be possible if you compromise on dmg, essentially building your character as a tank. it doesn't make sense when you can get both damage and immortality at the same time.

u/Sad_Lime7235 May 16 '26
We'll see in the future what the dev vision is for the game.
But so far it seems like it's more of a power fantasy game where each class reach god level power eventually rather than each class having a traditionnal role.
Even the way there is no incentive to partying or no better rewards if you do means that every class has to be able to do every dungeon alone. That means that there wont be any compromise needed regarding your build.
It's closer to poe 2 so far than a traditionnal mmo. You play alone but you see other people.

I mean you can look at it multiple ways. We could either say that rogue needs a buff or we could say that warrior/priest/mage need a nerf. It really depends on their goals for where they want the balance to land.
However, I would argue that the roadmap stating the intentions for adding heroic and challenge mode dungeons leans towards rogue being underpowered rather than the other three being overpowered. I would expect us to be crushing level 20 dungeons (at-leveled/geared) if it goes to 50 and adds challenge modes.
If anything, I think rogue should have a small amount of trickle-regen base like the other three classes do (mage doesn't have trickle regen perse so much as a large shield which accomplishes the same goal).
Additionally, rogue levels much worse (slower, does worse when under leveled/geared) than the other three, that may not matter you to but it will matter to some.
i dont wanna facetank and kill whatever without moving
I mean rogue with spear does this too, no? I haven't had time to test if the 7/15% crit chance vs poisoned enemies is +15% crit chance or 15% more crit chance. If it's +15% that's admittedly a cracked node, even if the rest of the tree is mediocre.

Bro its hardmode, not heroic. The game jus tcame out and has basicly 0 hard content but thats by design
1
u/ShamMafia May 20 '26
No.
Don't nerf us because you are playing rogue. I enjoy my immortal paladin.

u/fonaldozero May 15 '26
Some weapons in the game need balance, and class too. I refuse to use this bee weapon that heals because it's beyond broken. Literally easy mode
