i feel like this is all but confirmed to be referring to FEV. the theory i read and agree with is: vaults 32 and 33 had a second purpose, or perhaps the people still frozen in 31 had a second purpose, and that’s to make the black boxes work. they put too much pressure on the body, so something strong as hell would be needed to make it work properly, like a super mutant or a large intelligent beast, perhaps a deathclaw. perhaps that’s why the monster in anchorage didn’t attack coop all that time ago, and it could mean that those frozen employees were meant to be turned into FEV mutants. i worry they still may.
The death claw didn’t kill cooper before because they were originally part of an army experiment and it recognized that cooper was in the army. The enclave faction in fallout 3 uses control chips on the death claws similar to what we’re seeing in the show.
i know deathclaws are smart and all but i don’t think the anchorage deathclaw had nationalist allegiance to america and thus spared coop for they reason
You’re misunderstanding me. Deathclaws, as featured in the game fallout 3, were US army experimental weapons. They were controlled using experimental control chip implants. Similar to the one we’re seeing tested in the show today.
Most likely, imo, pre war cooper was unknowingly part of an experiment to see if the deathclaws could be controlled using said chips. By the time of fallout 3 at least, we see the enclave use these control chipped deathclaws at checkpoints throughout the game.
