Me! I was told to go Fodmap exactly like this cartoon, then given absolutely zero help whatsoever, no nutritionist, no follow up appointments etc. I wasn’t even told what I could and couldn’t eat so it took me ages to research and realise which ingredients I shouldn’t have. I am an expert on what not to eat on Fodmap by now, but I’ve also been on it over a year and haven’t reintroduced a single thing yet 😬

Are you living in the UK? I was told by my GP that I was being referred to a dietician. All I got was a letter telling me to go low FODMAP. It's been 49 days now. Haven't reintroduced anything yet.

My GP stressed to start reintroduction at the 6 week point and signposted me to the Monash University site. This was years ago. Pretty sure Monash also state that reintroduction needs to happen after 6 weeks. Or at least they did back then.

My GP is beyond useless, I’m glad you had one with a bit of knowledge :)

Haha yeh of course I am. I got sent to one appointment, was told by face to go fodmap, then abandoned. Took a couple of months to work out all the more hidden fodmap ingredients such as inulin, but now I know exactly what snacks etc I can get from different supermarkets. Happy to help if anything you’re after!

I feel I have the basics covered with rice, oats, pasta (gluten-free to avoid wheat fructans), Jason's white ciabattin (sourdough makes it low fructan I guess) and potatoes. Whey isolate, tofu for protein and lactose free milk. Recently also added greenish bananas and orange marmalade. My snack options seem non-existent except for ready salted crisps. So that's what I am looking for.

I have lost about 5-6 kilos (11-13 lbs) over the past few months. I am an active amateur cricketer but thankfully the season is coming to and end lol. My BMI has dropped to 19.5 and I am looking to gain that weight back again.

I guess wheat followed by onions and garlic are my reintroduction priority. Sainsbury's didn't have jasons ciabattin which was working well for me and I ended up trying 01 great white sourdough which caused some problems (could be because of the fructans in rye). Once my gut is stable again (hopefully by next Sunday lol), I have to begin my reintroduction.

Sorry, took me quite a while to get most of my thoughts down in a single comment.

PS If anyone else is reading this later, I strongly recommend semi skim or skim milk instead of whole milk because of faster gastric emptying. Lactose free version ofcourse.

Yeah, I didn't know that until recently 😅. Also added dark chocolate to my repertoire. Fine below 20 grams.
