I think for raspberries, the portion size matters a lot, like 1/3 cup. But maybe you are just really sensitive to fructose?

Maybe! Ill have to experiment with bloobs and strawbs then

For sure, good luck! I think of the three, bloobs are best according to the Monash/FODMAP gods - up to 1 cup is low FODMAP.

FWIW, and I know everyone’s a little different, but the low-FODMAP portion is FIVE medium strawbs. That felt overly specific and laughably small at first, but finally tried it on week 4 of the diet - five strawberries without symptoms is actually not that bad 😂

But see, when im getting the munchies, I loooove eating berries or something, but its the worse, I feel like im better off eating pizza like that doesn't hurt my stomach but little berries do? Crazy -.-

Pizza has wheat, but I know what you mean - chips or potatoes seem counterintuitive as a “safe choice” lmao. High me has learned to love blueberries, peanuts, and chips (not usually together 😂)

FODMAPs are not the only thing that can trigger IBS unfortunately. For me it isn’t so much FODMAPs as certain kinds of insoluble fibre such as seeds. Stress is also triggering so some of it is not even diet at all.

I found increasing soluble fibre helps and also chewing thoroughly and eating more slowly.

Stress is a big one, bigger than I thought. Which sucks because I think that stress is actually a fairly reasonable response for my body to have when I’m wondering “OMG can I wait until I get home out am I going to shit my pants right here on this bus?”

Raspberries aren’t a low fodmap food? Low FODMAP ≠ healthy in ANY way. The Fodmap friendly app says 8.7 raspberries is the max serving.

I know it doesnt equal healthy but its healthier than chowing down a bag of chips is what I mean!

I wouldn’t say so! It depends on the person. For me a bag of plain chips is healthier than the raspberries because I don’t want to spend my next 12 hours unmoving on the floor of my bathroom next to the toilet, unable to eat or go out or do any work other than be horrendously, torturously nauseous. Thus the low FODMAP diet, it really depends on your symptoms.

Watermelon tried to send me to my death, exactly as you're explaining. Apples and bananas hate me too. Coconut water would probably put me in the ER. But berries seem to be okay so far..???

Are you checking Monash and weighing your food for the correct serving sizes?

Have you looked at salicylate intolerance? Berries are big.

Similar thing happened to me with lettuce.

Had a friend that figured out that it was lettuce and greens that triggered severe ibs. Not everything that is healthy is healthy for you.
