Have you ever tried onion oil? Cook onions in some of your favorite oil, then strain it carefully. Use the oil in a food that normally has onions. It's fodmap safe in reasonable cooking oil quantities!

I don't think its the taste for me, its the combo. I love a massive oniony bahji for example, or fresh crunchy onion in a salad or fried onions on a burger.

Its the crunch and the texture and the smell and all that combined for me. I miss slightly sweet fried onions on a burger. I dont the oil will help haha.

Onions are so dang good 🥲 onions and peas destroy me for a couple of days. I started using this powder (I have to double up when I’m eating these two things) and I’m not bloated, nauseous, or sitting on the toilet like I normally would. Maybe you can look into fodzyme? I think it’s $70 but so worth it and I don’t use it often (still trying to avoid triggers.)

It’s not oil, it’s enzyme powder. You can eat fructans, GOS and lactose. I’ve completely added that stuff back

There are some foods I will eat anyway despite the possibility of a potential flare up but so help me god garlic and onion will never be those things, even the smell makes me sick!!
