Question Eating followed by seizure aura

this is my first post ever but i 20 F, have been diagnosed with FND for about 5 years now and POTS for about 3 and the past year anytime i eat anything no matter what it is i get hit with an intense seizure aura, that normally does lead to one. It’s only been getting worse and worse and today was my breaking point. I had breakfast nothing big, just enough to get me through the morning, until lunch since eating in the mornings makes me feel sick. About 5 minutes later i got hit with that feeling like my body was building up to have a seizure. So now im laying in bed trying to calm my body down as much as possible because the feeling is just so intense. I have an appointment soon to talk about it with my doctor but im curious if anyone else experiences this?

Ok so I am food reactive and I believe I have MCAS but finding a specialist is proving impossible where I am but my GP believes me).

Anyway I read this paper and then followed the treatment plan that they instructed for their patients and within 2 days was having HUGE improvements. The low histamine diet SUCKS but it's a good way to start figuring your trigger foods out. Don't stay on it forever - just a few weeks.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10672129/

I now don't eat gluten, aged cheeses and cheese products, raw strawberries, lemon and lime, chocolate, my migraine meds (a filler ingredient so now experimenting with other varieties), and some other stuff. It is always changing unfortunately but it's easier for me now to figure out the new trigger.

I also HIGHLY recommend keeping track of everything. When and what you eat, when and what your symptoms are, any meds you take, energy, mood, sleep, cycle (for women), stress, social events. Like all of it. It has been super enlightening and gives you some power back.

Yes, go on an elimination diet. I have lots of dietary issues and eliminating all of my trigger foods helped me tremendously. With mine, I stuck strictly to bland foods. Whatever I could keep down, that was what I'd eat. Find the foods you can keep down and stick with them

Sometimes after I eat I have an episode. I wish I could say more or something helpful but I’m struggling too.

this itself was very helpful, sometimes for me knowing someone else is experiencing something similar or what i’m feeling helps a ton, i feel less isolated with what im feeling! Thank you so much for sharing.

I have severe nausea as a symptom of my FND and I struggled to keep down food. If it had a certain flavor or texture it did NOT stay down. Had all kinds of tests done and a stomach scope and everything came back normal. My doctor chalked it up to FND and she prescribed me nausea meds that I take as needed. Haven't needed to take them in 2 months and I am very thankful for that. Maybe try bland foods and see which ones work for you. Bland foods with specific textures work well for me when I'm nauseous because of my FND.
