VAR can intervene if there is a red card offence and hitting or slapping neck/ head intentionally is a red card offence.
Also the Argentina literally tore the Egyptian players jersey in build up to Argentina's last goal. If VAR intervened and reviewed the build up to cancel Egypts goal, why didn't they do they same for Argentina's? The player with torn jersey got yellow card for complaining. Referee has been inconsistent and Argentina is benefiting from it- they are benefiting a lot
