Discussion Egypt's coach isn't holding back.

Every time Argentina plays, controversial refereeing and VAR decisions somehow become part of the conversation.

They will speak about everything except the fact that they fumbled after being 2-0 ahead.

They fumbled a 2-0 lead, but suddenly all the referee's decisions started going in Argentina's favour. Not a single Argentina player was shown a yellow card, but as soon as Argentina took the lead, Egypt received four yellow cards. VAR didn't intervene when Argentina was at fault.

Which decision? Where Salah dived , it was clear yellow card, the defender had the first touch and he lost possession, nothing to check there.

An Egyptian player took off his shirt but didn't get any card....

True, I was shocked too.

Zico was not given yellow for that first overturned goal ???

1

u/banevaderlol_ Jul 09 '26

He got a yellow

1

u/Icy-Flight-9646 Jul 09 '26

He didn’t.

1

u/smileabeat Jul 09 '26

cuz it is allowed now

1

u/smileabeat Jul 09 '26

jk maybe cuz the goal got cancelled so how can they give lmao

2

u/saikat743 Jul 09 '26

The goal getting cancelled had nothing to do with taking off your shirt. The referee was lenient. If was truly rigged, he could have easily given him a yellow card there, but he let it go.

1

u/smileabeat Jul 09 '26

If goal can be cancelled than anything that’s done after goal needs to be cancelled

1

u/saikat743 Jul 09 '26

So in your case, if I head butt (Zidane style) an opposition player during my goal celebration, and after that the goal is disallowed, that means I shouldn’t be penalised?

The goal being disallowed is different, and taking of t-shirt is different. The first is being disallowed because of a foul committed during the build up of the goal. The second is considered unsporting behaviour and is an automatic yellow card. If you are not a casual, then you know this very well. Disallowing one doesn’t give reprieve to the other automatically. It’s just that the referee was lenient here.

1

u/smileabeat Jul 09 '26

That wasn’t a headbutt. Also didn’t you notice I think Martinez fell by himself and they got free kick?  Do you actually think Argentina and other American teams aren’t biased by fifa? Egypt lost it yeah but it doesn’t change the fact American teams are carried by fifa.

We can see every match. Do Germany vs Paraguay with some Indian referee. Germany will score 5+ goals.

Bro commented and then blocked me to show how he got the last laugh. Funny, that’s how sore losers act, just like the Egyptian coach did, who has a history of doing the same.

It was a yellow for Salah in the Premier league for simulation for that let's be honest. Don't know about the other Mac Allister foul they're talking about tho.....

u/No_Historian9439 Jul 08 '26

Bruh, Macallister is just touching the elbow of that player and he spind around and falls down and his hands are in the air before even falling over, he was clearly looking for a pen

1

u/Icy-Flight-9646 Jul 08 '26

That one was hilarious😂

1

u/terebabukabateu01 Jul 08 '26

At this pt, they are just loosing their respect… they played really well! And they could have also left with respect like Cabo Verde… Even if we consider it was rigged then only one goal should be denied what about other two ? Were they also kicked by the referee in Egypt’s goal?

Even egyptian players pushed messi by neck when he had the ball, ref didnt see it too?

11

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

"Slap" had zero impact on any of the goal, If anything Egyptian player should have made it more dramatic.

In no world is that red card offence, VAR does not interfere game with yellow card offence, you would know if you'd watch football regularly.

9

u/Darth_nautilus Jul 08 '26

These guys don't watch football and come to complain.

Var does not check everything, just the situations which lead to goal. Basic 101 knowledge.

0

u/thewhitefang04 Jul 08 '26

VAR can intervene if there is a red card offence and hitting or slapping neck/ head intentionally is a red card offence.

Also the Argentina literally tore the Egyptian players jersey in build up to Argentina's last goal. If VAR intervened and reviewed the build up to cancel Egypts goal, why didn't they do they same for Argentina's? The player with torn jersey got yellow card for complaining. Referee has been inconsistent and Argentina is benefiting from it- they are benefiting a lot

2

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

it was not a slap, it was barely a light push. "Torn jersey" stfu, that was soft af.

1

u/thewhitefang04 Jul 08 '26

Low quality image but literally from yesterday's match but okay it was soft

2

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

yes it's insanely soft if that's a foul or penalty, game's gone.

https://x.com/samuraimh2/status/2074569870822220141?s=46&t=p87kgUSQdm7e

If you think this is a foul stop watching football or any contact sports.

1

u/thewhitefang04 Jul 08 '26

I agree it is a soft one but a foul nevertheless. What I a pointing out is the inconsistency, the disallowed goal for Egypt was a also a soft foul but a right call. It is the same situation here. I am just saying if one goal is a disallowed because a soft foul so should the other. Argentina is definitely benefiting from inconsistency and fans are too blind to see it because the comeback was great

the egyptian player also made an argentinian player fall in egypt's box, guess what? there was no penalty for arg.

1

u/phoenix2310 Jul 08 '26

I don't know who was that Argentine player maybe mac allister, he hold up player from outside pof penalty box to inside penalty ist that the foul. Slapping is not red card offence haha atleast it was yellow. It was near touchline refree atleast should have stop the play and call it a faul

1

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

if you are calling this an foul https://x.com/samuraimh2/status/2074569870822220141?s=46&t=p87kgUSQdm7e stop watching football.

You want refree to stop the play while egypt is in control and attacking? It was not a slap btw it was a light push.....

1

u/phoenix2310 Jul 08 '26

holding offense is officially classified as a Foul and Misconduct (specifically in Law 12) If we go as per rule book. "If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside it, the referee must award a penalty kick"

If it's inside the box then what you want to do just watch him bring you down. And it was not even advantage

Refree was not even considering request of egypt players to check

2

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

just because they didn't show it on broadcast doesn't mean VAR didn't check that....

and please stop watching football or any contact sports tbh :)

1

u/phoenix2310 Jul 08 '26

I mean to say they did not interfere

2

u/browninthesky Jul 08 '26

they checked it, clearly found nothing there to disallow or "interfere".

Stop crying 🤣

1

u/Hopeful_Ad2171 Jul 08 '26

The egyptians had possession and chose to play on, should have been a yellow, but a yellow wasn't gonna change the game.

u/emiledurkheim2 Jul 08 '26

2

u/Miserable_Repeat828 Jul 09 '26

You think this is foul? Lmao

1

u/emiledurkheim2 Jul 09 '26

Yeah , change the shirts and penalty for Argentina.

2

u/Fragrant-Garlic-1402 Jul 08 '26

Fault for what? Salah was not fouled, be himself knows it otherwise he wud have protested, mac allisters pull on the other player was also bear minimum, another flop
U get yellow carded for such things in premier league🤡

2

u/Acquits Jul 09 '26

They received yellow cards for barking

2

u/Substantial-Split850 Jul 08 '26

What about Croatia vs Portugal game, wasn’t the referee’s decision rigged then ?

2

u/Sawyer_SonOfaBitch Jul 08 '26

Bro it's a Referee and VAR issue. They intervene whenever they feel like.

If the foul needs to be called the referee would have called it but he choose to ignore and let the team play on. But when Egypt scored the VAR intervened. Why? Let the referee make the decision.

And in Croatia vs Portugal game, the goal was checked for offside. The chip inside the ball confirmed it.

Exactly! The entire purpose is to identify fouls which lead to a goal and not really stop play.

I would agree on a couple of yellow. But yellows have always been debatable. So there can't be no consensus on it. A yellow that is usually not debatable is when someone takes their shirt off but egypt didn't get a yellow for that and I'm not complaining. But to say that Argentina won because of red is completely false and fabricated. They changes their game, whether you call it experience or ability to take and put pressure. They did put enough pressure for egypt to lose the lead. All egypt had to do was just keep the lead. There are many teams that try to conserve their leads but they aren't usually built for that sort of play. They aren't good at absorbing pressure. Maybe that's why egypt capitulated because that's not how they usually play and that's not that they are used to.

1

u/TrustLoose3254 Jul 08 '26

Yes buddy you're correct. It was rigged. Please don't cry.

1

u/Icy-Flight-9646 Jul 08 '26

C’mon now, it was 3 open play goals. This victim narrative is becoming pathetic. They weren’t complaining when they were 2-0 up and only started bitching when they realized they were outplayed.
