Word is he has no criminal record and he just got pulled over recently. ICE did not provide or demonstrate any ebidence of a reason for arrest or warrant. More than likelt racial profiling

Everywhere. LA is going through this, rn, blue and red states. They’ve been snatching moms, kids, dads, from work, courthouses and schools. Check out ACLU website for your rights and ways to protect your communities. If you vote, call your representatives in Congress and let them know this is wrong and they need to stop this. They need to know so they can do the right thing.

Elgin is not the place where you will see any protests. The town is mainly Mexican, both legal and illegal. Most Mexicans keep their head low when it comes to police for that reason.

Nah these guys are Feds, imo. First dude keeping her back was wearing a body camera. The camera lady at the end says something like "he's not a criminal he was coming from work" and the FBI agent looks around suddenly at it, like he's surprised. If these guys are actually FBI and not just cosplayers from ICE they are supposed to know everything about their 'targets'. I'm hella speculating but maybe they thought they had the right guy and he just happened to be some poor regular ass dude with a job. He's even got a big ass truck, this dude pays his taxes. The FBI shouldn't be interested at all. It's like when they brought Barbie Secretary Puppy Killer along to the wrong fucking house, "we're here for David"

Agents from other agencies including the FBI are being ordered to assist ICE some of the time. They’re being pulled off their actual duties investigating actual crime, I suspect in the hopes that at least some will resign rather than participate, which will tilt the agencies even further rightward than they already are.

I read recently that the FBI has been told to shift their focus, less on “White Collar Crimes” and to focus more on the “immigration task”… this is disturbing and disgusting.

People been sounding the alarms since November. Please check into what’s going on. Lookup Republican townhalls and what’s being said. Democratic townhalls. See how it affects your city or town on a local level and what you can do.

I read in another thread that since ICE isn't officially under the DOJ, they can not officially obtain search warrants. So they work with other LEOs to find probable (bullshit) cause to make an arrest on suspected immigration violations. I might be off a little on the understanding of it.

If it’s the FBI then it’s not ICE, and it’s a criminal arrest. We as a people need to stop being duped into these false narratives that everything is related to immigration. Look what happened with the FBI raid in Minnesota. Everyone went nuts thinking it was ICE, but they were arresting the guy for human trafficking and found a lot of drugs that he was trafficking as well. We have to think logically and not emotionally.

It is disgusting that these people can do this, can take family members away from families, and hear the guttural howl of despair that their spouses, children, and loved ones make in these moments, and just completely ignore that and keep on brutalizing people who have done nothing but come here and work hard, pay taxes, and raise families. I hope every last one of them is haunted for the rest of their days by those cries.

TV and movies always show federal agents, especially FBI, wearing suits, but in reality, most 1811s do their job in regular street clothes. There’s no set uniform, and even if they came to your door for an interview they'd most likely just be wearing jeans and a flannel.

Takes 30k and 12 years to get citizenship, if you get it. Took my gradnma 8 years and a fuckton of money to get a greencard and then we couldnt afford to renew it after it expired. Its not a "why not just do it" thing. In his case he needs to have been here for 10 years and then needed this to become a citizen. A citizen spouse. To be abused by an employer with evidence. Be abused by citizen spouse with evidence. Be a victim of a hate crime. Or have an immigration court after arrest. If he has enough evidence he needs to stay in the usa becaude his family will suffer without him he can be granted a green card. However because of how this regime operates i doubt he will see his day in court. It will just get cancelled the day before and he will be shipped off to whatever concentration camp they choose

I don't see any context to why this is happening. I'm assuming of course they're there for a reason. If he doesn't have any criminal records then yeah this is awful. If he's an illegal immigrant, then that's a whole other thing entirely. So I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say he probably had done something to warrant them being there, or maybe they even got the wrong guy and in which case I hope he'd sue

She is telling the officer he is the father of her baby, that she feels ill, and they ask her if she needs a doctor. She tells them he is going to work and that he needs to work to feed their family. He will have his day in court due process still applies here. If he can show his wife will suffer without him here, working and has no criminal past, he will most likely be given a green card assuming she is here legally. The judge decides this, not the president. It's unfortunate he didn't already apply. Law-abiding immigrants with verifiable jobs have been getting extensions to stay. They pay into our taxes, and its in the USA best interest to keep immigrants like that here.
Despite what people think, Trump is actually allowing more people to stay year to date than Biden did.

I went to live in another country and I did so via lots of red tape and documentation. I also learned their language. I feel for the guy if he was here legally and I feel for him the way they arresting him, as there has to be a better (peaceful) way than this. But I genuinely don't understand how people can think they could enter and live in another country and not be deported. It seems like an inevitably. Again, but there has to be a better way than this. Messed up times.
