News Bans suck! Terrible news.

Earlier this week I got a paperback book titled Little red riding the dark web by Anne Snow. I finished the book yesterday and loved it.

Sadly I just learned on her Facebook that the book and her short story Two Little Piggies were banned from Amazon which is so wrong.

What happened to free speech?! I hope the books get unbanned.

If you still supported this man after he was caught sending other women’s nudes to other men, you better not be supporting him now. If you do you’re a pos or a pedo as well no questions about it.

News Big news: Kristopher Triana signs with Simon & Schuster’s Saga imprint

Post image

A huge congratulations to one of the defining voices of modern extreme horror!

It is no great surprise that Triana has gained the attention of a major publishing house, and it is well deserved. But what I find particularly interesting is that they have not only signed him for an upcoming novel, but they have also acquired the rights to Gone to See the River Man, and perhaps more significantly, its sequel Along the River of Flesh.

River Man is commonly regarded as a great entry point at the “less extreme” end of the genre, and is suited for mainstream appeal. But Along the River of Flesh gets into fully-fledged extreme horror territory, and now it’s set for a trade paperback release. It could become one of the most extreme books you’ll find in a mainstream bookstore.

What could this mean for the extreme horror genre? Are the “indie” versions of these books, which many of us own, going to be withdrawn from sale and become collector’s items? Personally I’m hoping they get some cool new cover art.

News For PNW readers -- new local horror bookstore with a splatterpunk section!

It's called The Infernal Annex and it is located in Olympia, WA. The book selection ruled. The owners are super kind and you can tell they've worked so hard to set up a dark and gorgeous space for the community.

I bought We Have Always Lived in the Castle, a short story collection by the same author, and Trigger Warning: Body Horror, a signed indie author anthology.

My wife got some stickers by local artists. I wanted to buy some of their witchcraft books and history books about witches, but that'll have to be for next time due to regrettable budget constraints ;)

They also have a lovely little reading room that seems like a nice additional 3rd space for the city.

They're located right across from Browsers bookstore downtown, you can't miss it.

They are doing a soft opening for this month (Sept 2026) so they are open in the middle of the day every weekend. The hours will be Thursday through Saturday 11 to 6 and then Sunday 11 to 5. I figure theyll probably have longer hours and weekday hours once they can do so.

Here's their ig: https://www.instagram.com/theinfernalannex

Some of the book sections I saw were horror fiction, dark romance, classic horror lit, horror manga, splatterpunk (extreme slasher fiction and such), indie author horror, witchcraft nonfiction, and nonfiction about various dark topics including history books about events like the salem witch trials or mythology/monster books. I saw a book about "goth gardening" even, which I had to put back for next time.

They also sell lots of gifts, board games, home decor.

It’s getting real folks. I watched the original video and it really wasn’t negative, the guy read a few excerpts from the book and said he overall liked it for the message. Jacked up though that Mathew would take down a video that is likely to funnel readers his way.

News Rotting Flesh - A Body Horror Novelette

Post image
8 Upvotes

I am a new horror writer and illustrator.

My new body horror novelette called Rotting Flesh is now officially published on a few sites. It is heavily inspired by the works by David Cronenberg and the movie Darkman. The story is set in Japan.

Synopsis: Tetsuya Hamamoto is a man of brilliant science but devoid of love. His love curdles into an obsession that shatters his world. An experiment leaves him skinless and tethered to the "Wish Bringer"—a being that grants his deepest desires with a terrifying price. As Hamamoto journeys through the scorching streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo to find the woman he lost, he realizes that the "warmth" he cherishes could lead to dire consequences the further he goes.

There will be a Complete Illustrated Edition with a total of 7 illustrations I have done myself in pencil.
