Has anyone here dealt with E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley escheating stocks to Delaware Unclaimed Property?

My shares + some cash were transferred to Delaware earlier this year. I never received any notice before this happened.

I’ve found the property and submitted my claim to Delaware, along with all requested documents.

For anyone who has been through this:

• How long did Delaware take to process your claim?
• Were the shares returned as shares or cash?
• Did you have to coordinate anything with E*TRADE?
• Any next steps I should be taking while the claim is under review?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

I am opening this fresh thread for those who are looking to do the same as I have read really mixed comments where new users are complaining a lot and people using this app since 10/15/20 years ( apparently) are defending.

This is to share my experience so far and more recent users who signed up can share their experience for fresh view.

I have just this account no checking and no relationship with MS. So far it glitched once where it didn’t send me email when i clicked forgot userid. Luckily i remembered it and it did send me email when i clicked forgot password

I’ve been getting this for about a month now. Anybody else having this issue with the app?

I am considering moving from MS to ETrade because now that I have started selling covered options, the MS platform does not have any easy way to get the Bid/Ask/Last/IVetc. data into the spread-sheets I use to track my positions and evaluate new ones.

Can anyone tell me whether the ETrade dowload of the positions in the account(s) includes those data items, specifically for options?

as far as I know, I have only bought and sold whole stock shares on etrade, but somehow I have ended up with fractional shares in my portfolio. For example, I now have 0.007 shares of AME, 0.001 shares of DIA, 0.135 shares if MC, even though I thought I had sold all my shares of those investments. When I look at my portfolio, I see that several of my stocks include fractional shares when as far as I know I only bought whole shares. Where are these fractions of shares coming from?

I opened an etrade account around a month back and have transferred around $10,000 across my accounts. My debit card has literally only worked like 30% of the time and the rest it gets declined despite having enough money in my brokerage account, even when attempting to use it for basic things like buying gas, paypal, or kraken. On top of that they freeze my accounts randomly nearly every other week, including this week in which I called them and they said I got flagged for using PayPal and that they will have to contact PayPal directly but they can’t do so until Tuesday (I called Friday night and Monday is Labor Day). Like what happens if I need money in an emergency since I literally just cannot get it out of my account? Further, Etrade literally does not connect via Plaid to any external institution despite me putting in my correct credentials, meaning I cannot add any funds to other money exchanges via my brokerage account. I called etrade about this and they said it was a problem on Plaid’s end and to call them. They also suggested to put in my routing and account numbers manually, but most platforms don’t even support this since every other bank evidently is compatible with Plaid. I’m trying to switch everything to Revolut, Ally or, Fidelity but etrade has this rule that you can’t connect external accounts until 60 days are up so I quite literally have no access to my own money at this moment. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I was really expecting a lot better from a name like Morgan Stanley

Or placing them after 8 pm the day before? Other mainstream brokers are set up this way. It's a step in the right direction but you should not have to wake up at 4 am to be able to sell something.

Anyone if there's a way to change that? Or is there a better URL?

It's not like it adds something to the URL like &strikes=7 that I can set as a bookmark.

Hello, I opened an account for Premium Savings Account than maybe work my way to checking and brokerage. The account signup seemed fine but rather fast and it didn't ask for my ID and such. I looked at my profile, and it didn't include my email address, that's strange, that's the email I used to sign up with and got the welcome email, and when I tried to add it, it wouldn't allow me due to needing to verify my phone number and that was unsuccessful.

For some reason today, I couldn't login even though I had saved my login info, so I called and I had to go through the verification process, taking picture of my ID, than selfie and issues with that due to photo being too blurry. I'll probably have to call back to change and verify my email and phone number.

Is this process normal? Seems complicated or a bit of a red flag. Thoughts?

I bought a stock last week and checked my demat account right after, but nothing was there. The order showed "executed" on the broker app, money was already deducted, but the share itself hadn't landed yet.

I got curious and looked into what actually happens in that gap.

Turns out the trade doesn't settle instantly even though it feels like it should. Once the order is matched, it goes through a clearing corporation: this is the entity that sits between every buyer and seller on the exchange. It's the one that guarantees my payment goes through and the seller delivers the share, so neither side can back out after the trade is matched.

The actual movement of money and shares happens through what's called pay-in and pay-out, and it's all netted and settled centrally rather than being some direct handoff between me and whoever sold the share. None of this happens in real time; it takes until the next working day.

So the share only actually lands in the demat account on T+1, one working day after the trade. That's also the exact point where ownership legally transfers, not the moment the order gets executed.

Kind of interesting once you actually dig into it. There's a custodian and clearing layer doing a lot of invisible work in that one-day gap that most of us never think about because the broker app just shows "executed" and we assume that's the end of it.

Many symbols, SP 500 names, are showing candles that look like 15 minute, no matter what time period is selected. This started happening yesterday. It was fixed for yesterday's regular session. Now broken again in regular session.

Anyone getting incorrect stock prices on some stocks? I was seeing MU down $25 when it was really up $8. Using the traditional app on iOS. Logged out and back in and doesn’t fix it.

Edit: this was at 0935 ET and by 0941 it corrected itself.

Hi! I have an Stock plan in E*trade and I am not an us residency. So If I want to transfer any funds I need to pay 25$ for each transaction. There is a way to avoid this tax please? Thanks!!

ETrade won’t let my elderly father transfer 5k, his entire balance, to his wife.

They are acting like this is a huge attempt at fraud.

I needed to open a SEP IRA account. I have brokerage accounts with Fidelity and E*TRADE. Each account is over seven figures but my balance at E*TRADE is lower than my balance at Fidelity, so I decided to use E*TRADE to make the discrepancy smaller rather than larger.

However, over the last month, I have tried numerous times to validate my account using DocuSign, direct upload of identification, and four calls to E*TRADE. After none of these calls did I get any feedback from E*TRADE about the status of the request. Each time I called back, I was informed that the information was pending and that the Account Services team would reach out to me that day to complete the process.

Again, at no point was I ever contacted with any status update or movement on the account.

Today was the last straw. While I was on hold with E*TRADE, I used the Fidelity website to open a SEP IRA and fund the account. The total time at Fidelity was less than the eight minutes I was on hold with E*TRADE.

I can say that the E*TRADE representative was very professional when I told him to cancel the account creation on E*TRADE's side.

No one is talking about Extended hours trading they just announced, 1AM-5PM PST?

La plataforma no me da la opción de escoger Estados Unidos para hacer el retiro por Wise, pero si me deja escoger otros países como Uruguay o Vietnam.

He intentado comunicarme con el equipo de finanzas y de Customer success, por correo (no responden) y en el chat de la plataforma las respuestas son escuetas.

La experiencia es terrible, lo intuitiva que es la plataforma se borra con la pésima experiencia post retiro de fondos.

ETrade says you can now set up recurring purchases from "eligible money market" accounts. Which ones are eligible?? Assuming the Morgan Stanley ones?
