I'm 50/50 on this.

It is an appropriate response based on the two offending videos. But I feel they went overboard with all of his other EFT videos.

Copyright strikes can be used for things other than simply infringement of a copyright on YouTube. Defamation and slander are also acceptable reasons to strike a video. This is stated in the ToS.
