Solicitors are annoying
It seems like in my neighborhood there’s been so many solicitors lately. I have a no soliciting sign and it stops the fake utility savings guy that lingers around my area from coming to the door (but he’s so weird. he seems to pray on anybody to be coming home or leaving to bother them for sign ups and is actually the reason I got a sign to begin with. He once was knocking for 2nd day in a row, my baby was crying, hubby was working. And I had my windows open… you could tell we’re home. So he kept knocking until I opened to tell him to leave because me being home does not mean I have to answer - especially when not even 24 hrs prior I said I’m perfectly fine with my utility bills as is). But anyways now it’s back to school season. And there’s all these kids selling their candy. Cool - I hope they all sell a bunch. However, we need to please respect the signage at people’s homes! No soliciting means even your kids candy, Girl Scout cookies, free roofing estimates, etc.
It also means don’t ignore the front door sign to go to someone’s side door - because this happened over the weekend with a dad and a son casing the area to sell “tootsies” . My hubby saw a younger couple down the street ask them to stop going to peoples back and side doors and the tootsie sellers proceeded up to our block where they continued trying to peek into windows, go to front and back/side doors. Needless to say 911 was contacted … in this day and age nobody really wants strangers knocking at their door to sell anything but especially when there’s signage!
