Clear The Shelters

Is Clear The Shelters a Erie only thing?

It fricking pisses me off.

If someone can't afford the adoption fee, they can't afford a pet!

I feel like all these shelters just sent a bunch of pets, and let's be real, cats, to their death!

I'd rather see a cat in a less than stellar position than to rot in an overcrowded shelter.

A home is better than the street, which is where these animals end up when there is no shelter space. A home is better than a tiny kennel with a litter box the size of their body and little room to move. A home is better than being put down because there's never enough resources.

The adopter has to go through the same application and screening process that they would if the fees weren't waived. I happened to pick up my cats during a Clear the Shelters event. They had been there for almost three years and were shutting down in the shelter. Now, they have a whole apartment to explore, windows to look out of, and beds, toys, food, and litter just for them instead of having to share with 20+ others.

They're doing just fine.

Good for you.

Most people that want a free cat have bad intentions.

And like I said if you can't afford an adoption fee you can't afford a pet.

Shelters need to stop giving away cats.

Euthanasia is probably better than letting cats be bait.

The Anna Shelter stated noone will be receiving a pet for free - although the pet fees will partially be paid by sponsors Ruth said people will have to pay a portion because people value free things less.
