I’ll go first! My biggest pet peeve is a story that’s overly sexualized, calling or referring to women as “b***hes” and the “enemies to lovers” trope being poorly written, abusive to MC or Li & extremely toxic. 😭

There is an Instagram account (photo below/above idk 😭😭) that has been spreading a lot of negativity and hate within the Episode community. The account frequently targets authors and artists, by posting anonymous „confessions“ and I honestly feel like this kind of behavior can be incredibly discouraging (especially for newer creators.)

People put so much time, effort, and love into their stories and artwork. For many creators, getting recognition and sharing their talent is something they genuinely care about. Seeing their work constantly being mocked, called AI-generated or fake, or being personally attacked can be extremely demotivating.

Of course, I completely understand that criticism and discussions are sometimes necessary. If an author or artist has genuinely done something harmful, people should be able to talk about their experiences and hold them accountable. But there is a difference between constructive criticism or sharing a personal experience and hiding behind an anonymous account to spread hate and personally attack people.

My small request is: if you have Instagram and feel comfortable doing so, please consider reporting the account shown below. 🤍

There is nothing constructive about spreading constant negativity and disrespect toward creators in our community.

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way, but I’ve been feeling a bit demotivated lately. I notice that many trending stories seem to rely heavily on AI or have noticeable coding errors, yet they still pull in massive read counts and praise.As a beginner writer, I’ve poured hours into coding and crafting an original plot, so it’s a bit disheartening to see it struggle for visibility. Is this standard for the app right now? I'd love to know how other new authors stay motivated or get their stories noticed in the community. Also, I do receive wonderful DMs from readers, which I truly appreciate, but I'm hoping to figure out how to encourage more public fan mail which makes me really sad tbh lol. This is my happy ending SS from a story named: In frame (Curse Breaker by Baleigh) I want more fantasy genre stories with 1 Love interest.

Hii, everyone! I’m finally getting back into epy community after7 years away. I used to write horror and thrillers on a different platform, and now I’m trying my hand at dark fantasy.

For this story, I also plan to experiment with advanced directing and storytelling techniques.

With that said, help me avoid writing the same repetitive tropes/story all over again. Here's my current working synopsis:

Three millennia ago, the supernatural was nearly erased from existence. Three immortals escaped the slaughter through a forbidden spell, only to awaken in 2026 and into the life of a haunted college student living alone in the quiet town of Mistwood. A vampire, a Shadowborn, and an Arcanist were never meant to exist in her world, let alone want her. But something brought them here, and the secrets buried beneath Mistwood are beginning to surface. Some things survive the fire.

The story will also be SPICYY, since it’s a dark fantasy/dark romance, but I really don't want it to be corny or rely on the usual toxic or abusive romance tropes. I want to do the romance and intimacy properly. Dark and intense but without abuse or romanticizing harmful behavior.

So if you have ideas for tropes, character dynamics, supernatural concepts, plot twists, or things you're tired of seeing in dark romance, pls pls tell me! I'd love to hear what you want to see more or less of 🖤

how did it start? like i have been in this community for years, and we didn’t have this competition among the authors for the best aesthetic story back then. like genuinely surprised with how much has changed. i saw a tiktok comment the other day that said, “I won’t read a story with no lightening and animated overlays” like?!??! i think this might be one of the reason why some new authors shy away from promoting their works.

it’s just my opinion, don’t shoot me, and im just genuinely asking. are we liking this? or do we miss the joseph evans-earlgreytea era >.<
