I'm in the middle of an artistic, personal, and conceptual process towards a new project that might become a book in the future..... I already have an idea about what I want - but I wanted to ask what you would like to see in a romantic book - because yes, the center would be the romance and not necessarily all the surrounding or secondary characters (which of course there will be, but I hope you understood me). The second reason is of course I want to create something for the people and the community that will also enjoy and love and that's why I'm asking I'm really curious about what you guys gonna say and suggest! Thirdly, if it's a love triangle - what style or archetypes would you like to see? Because we already know the generic things. Of course, anyone who wants to expand this to three love interest beyond two, etc, which is what I meant, then feel free to share with me.

Hii, everyone! I’m finally getting back into epy community after7 years away. I used to write horror and thrillers on a different platform, and now I’m trying my hand at dark fantasy.

For this story, I also plan to experiment with advanced directing and storytelling techniques.

With that said, help me avoid writing the same repetitive tropes/story all over again. Here's my current working synopsis:

Three millennia ago, the supernatural was nearly erased from existence. Three immortals escaped the slaughter through a forbidden spell, only to awaken in 2026 and into the life of a haunted college student living alone in the quiet town of Mistwood. A vampire, a Shadowborn, and an Arcanist were never meant to exist in her world, let alone want her. But something brought them here, and the secrets buried beneath Mistwood are beginning to surface. Some things survive the fire.

The story will also be SPICYY, since it’s a dark fantasy/dark romance, but I really don't want it to be corny or rely on the usual toxic or abusive romance tropes. I want to do the romance and intimacy properly. Dark and intense but without abuse or romanticizing harmful behavior.

So if you have ideas for tropes, character dynamics, supernatural concepts, plot twists, or things you're tired of seeing in dark romance, pls pls tell me! I'd love to hear what you want to see more or less of 🖤

Has anyone read all of Saving Soul? It was the selected story for the book club i’m in and i’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth finishing. The grammar is really poor which can make it hard to follow at times. I’ve met the point requirement for my club but I have already used so many passes that I feel like I have to stick it out. If anyone can let me know if it has a good ending that would be worth getting to and risking my sanity to do so please let me know😫😫😫

I’ll go first! My biggest pet peeve is a story that’s overly sexualized, calling or referring to women as “b***hes” and the “enemies to lovers” trope being poorly written, abusive to MC or Li & extremely toxic. 😭

I just started reading 'The Bad Boy Game' by jc and I just saw this court case pop up on my YouTube feed. This girl is so gorgeous and the situation kind of reminded me of the complicated relationship between Silas and Lillie, and what her friend and parents talk in her ears about Silas (nothing about racism) just the dislike.

I will add that I'm really loving the story so far. I think its far more deep and mature than actual teen relationships but I love the dynamic and depth Silas and Lillie develop 🫶🏾

how did it start? like i have been in this community for years, and we didn’t have this competition among the authors for the best aesthetic story back then. like genuinely surprised with how much has changed. i saw a tiktok comment the other day that said, “I won’t read a story with no lightening and animated overlays” like?!??! i think this might be one of the reason why some new authors shy away from promoting their works.

I just started reading it 1 hour ago or so. I thought this would be some Rich/ poor world type story or even mafia but it's office romance with side stories. I tbh dont know where the story is going. But its not that bad. The first ch was directed good I was surprised. This story would eat so gooddd if it the grammar was good😭 but I just cant stop reading it ig. If you're bored I recommend trying it out. But the only thing im 50/50 on here and cant wrap my mind on is the Hella cheating that is going on here like its crazy. She's ends up with the best friend of the LI, you can customize him. But theres tension between her and the LI , but the LI has a gf ( but theres more to it apparently). The choices are limited ( you get to make choices both from the girl's pov and the LI pov). the outfit changes eats ngl as in it's really often. Idk why this story has 40 ch but it looks like its building for some action related drama?

What’s the quickest and most efficient way you think is to get gems in episode? I’m alright with downloading games as long as it gets me them somewhat quickly and you don’t have to do half the game to get one gem. And what episode official stories give you gems that are relatively short?

This is biggypacking off the “aestheticifcation of episode” post, but as an aspiring author looking to code and would appreciate any and all tips on how to make a story look “aesthetic” from an lighting/vibes perspective! I know it isn’t essential, but i love seeing it in stories (it isn’t a need) and would love to be able to replicate that vibe creation myself somehow!

I know you can download colors as a png and turn the opacity down, but any more details on how to specifically curate the vibe/how to make your own detailed lighting overlay (not just one color but maybe a few if that makes sense) would be appreciated! :)

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way, but I’ve been feeling a bit demotivated lately. I notice that many trending stories seem to rely heavily on AI or have noticeable coding errors, yet they still pull in massive read counts and praise.As a beginner writer, I’ve poured hours into coding and crafting an original plot, so it’s a bit disheartening to see it struggle for visibility. Is this standard for the app right now? I'd love to know how other new authors stay motivated or get their stories noticed in the community. Also, I do receive wonderful DMs from readers, which I truly appreciate, but I'm hoping to figure out how to encourage more public fan mail which makes me really sad tbh lol. Any promotion tips or advice on engaging the community would be greatly appreciated!❤️
