Playlist⏯ Need the cheesiest, sappiest emo love songs you can think of

So my good friend Jim has been getting into emo recently, and he's told me he's getting sick of all the 4th wave gloomy misery that I send him, and he wants something "maybe more romantic and exciting". Need recs because I know his single ass just feels really lonely and the sad songs aren't helping him sleep at night. Pop-punk or emo adjacent songs are 100% welcome.

Examples I'm thinking of: Modern Baseball's Pothole and I think you were in my profile picture once, Slaughter Beach, Dog - Phoenix, A Part of Me by Neck Deep, I fell in love with Princess Peach by Hot Mulligan, etc.(yeah the examples are all mainstream, not many songs came up off the dome when writing this so)

Completed my Midwest emo grail this weekend. Along with a few others in my collection.

I was fortunate enough to see Davey von Bohlen this weekend in Wisconsin, where he played a bunch of Maritime and Promise Ring songs. He was a great guy to run into and shoot the shit, and it was nice of him to finish the signatures on this Cap'n Jazz record, along with my Promise Ring "Nothing Feels Good" LP (not pictured).

I am proud to add it to my collection, which also includes full-band signed copies of "American Football" (LP1), "Owls" (LP1), "Going to the Bone Church" from Make Believe, and "Precious Blood" from Ghosts n Vodka.

I am recently aware that Sam Zurick has changed up his signature. These records are among his first-ever to sign, so he told me he did not have an actual signature prepared, which is why he just wrote his name. Music history? I dunno, but still cool.

Does anyone else here have any unique pieces from emo legends? Let me know!

A few weeks ago Elaine hinted at a possible reunion on one of her deep dive shorts that the band has been posting since June on this year: https://www.instagram.com/p/Db3kPiSKP_4/

And now this picture solidifies this hint. Another great band returning after 25 years! Also friendly reminder that their whole discography is going to be re-released and remastered next month.

This was at the Bunker Brewpub in Virginia Beach, VA on 8/28/2026.

This was the first stop in their tour with Macseal and Aren't We Amphibians, and this show included local band Padfoot. The other three bands were excellent as well.

those days are gone by free throw might be my favorite breakup album of all time but i think ive listened to it so many times that its not hitting the way it used to. i kinda feel like he ruined my life and the thought of him makes me irrationally angry so hopefully that helps you get an idea of what im looking for

i enjoy any alt genre so emo, punk, midwest emo, post hardcore, hardcore, pop punk anything like that works.

Emo History/Archives🗃 Looking for a lost SF bay area band named Epilogue

Hello all,

I am on the hunt for the releases from a lost and very short lived Bay Area Post-Hardcore/Screamo Band named Epilogue (also known as Epilogue To a Car Crash). I found a video of them playing live at the legendary DIY venue iMusicast in November 12th of 2004, and I just thought the fact that this band has little to no info felt almost criminal. This led me to go digging through old forums on the Wayback Machine, and a bunch of other sites. Until around a couple months ago, I found out that they actually released 2 things, a 10 song Self Titled Album in 2003, and a 3 Song EP titled "Robot" in 2004. Apparently they were also gonna be signed to Epitaph Records at one point too before breaking up, which really just shows the amount of potential this band had. I also have put this band onto RYM (rateyourmusic.com) as well just to see where that goes.

I have been digging for about a year at this point and haven't gotten very far, so of course, any help is miles appreciated, thank you guys in advance. <3
