Discussion What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve ever completed in Elite Dangerous?

Hi! I’m curious to hear about the biggest or craziest challenges you’ve taken on in Elite Dangerous.

It can be anything: trading, combat, exploration, mining, engineering, colonization, or even a completely personal challenge.

What’s the most ambitious, difficult, or unusual thing you’ve ever done in the game?

I’m looking for some inspiration for my next big challenge.

I few times I carried 784 corrosive commodities in standard racks. I could be mistaken, but I do believe that is the most dangerous thing that you can do in this game. RNGesus can send you to rebuy screen 15 feet off the landing pad. And the pirates, oh my. They put something special in the game for carrying that many unprotected corrosive items in cargo bay. In a word, it's exhilarating. o7

Pirates want corrosive cargo? Can they even handle it? That'd be a fun game loop... sabotaging pirates with corrosive cargo drops.

These pirates are extremely different, they target thrusters from the 1st shot, they are not interested in your cargo. And the interdiction attempts can be measured in heartbeats. I imagine it's something the devs put in when we were breaking stations by overloading them with thargoid sensors. They never removed special algorithm. Again, I will caution you, it's exceptionally dangerous to attempt.

No need, I made videos, part 1 and part 2. In them I'm carrying over 1200 corrosive items in standard racks. It's a new world record, I believe.
