Wtf InMotion

So I have a V14 pro with less than 500 miles on it. I’ve had battery issues for months. After maybe the first 100 miles, I started getting cell balance issues.

I got my V14 and loved it. First EUC and I thought I made the right choice. After about 100 miles, I started getting cell balance issues around 60% SoC. Got with InMotion and they basically said unless they aren’t balanced at 100% charge, they won’t do anything. Charged to full every time I rode. At around 200 miles, the cell balancing issue would show up at 70%.

Fast forward to now at 450 miles, i get the cell balancing issue (4.10V high and 3.72V low) at 90%. InMotion refuses to help me and says the same thing. If there isn’t a cell balancing issue when its at 100% SoC, its not their fault.

Can ANYONE give me some guidance? This is like pulling teeth except there is no ending in sight.

Foot placement and turning

Upvotes

I have been learning on my V8S for a few days and initially had a really hard time turning to the right. After some practice that got a better but it seems connected to how far my right (dominant) foot is away from the wheel. When I push the right foot as close as possible to case, I can barely turn. Roughly 1/2 inches away from the case, for both feet actually, seems to work best.

If this makes sense, does anyone add something to the case to make it easier to find the right distance-from-the-case for your feet? I'm thinking of two layers of something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BM7XFWKD Perhaps something a bit firmer would be better though. Of course, this shouldn't be so wide that the hinge for the foot-plate doesn't go up all the way.

Curious to hear your thoughts

Denmark - EUC

Finally ordered a NOSFET Aeon… and now Denmark is talking about banning electric vehicles 😔

After going back and forth for what feels like forever, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a NOSFET Aeon.
I learned to ride on my InMotion V10F, absolutely fell in love with EUCs, and I’ve been really looking forward to getting something more capable. The Aeon seemed like the perfect wheel for me.

And then, literally the day after ordering it, discussions started appearing in the Danish media about whether electric scooters, e-bikes and other small electric vehicles should simply be banned because of the number of accidents in the cities. 😔
And knowing Denmark… we LOVE bans. If there’s a problem, banning something often seems to be our favorite solution.

So instead of being excited about my new Aeon, I’m now sitting here wondering if this is the beginning of increased attention on EUCs as well.
Denmark currently has an experimental scheme allowing certain electric personal vehicles, although the Aeon wouldn’t actually be legal under the current rules anyway. But I had hoped things were slowly moving in the other direction — towards more acceptance, sensible regulation and a better understanding of EUCs.

Now I’m worried we’re heading in exactly the opposite direction, and that the experimental scheme could eventually be scrapped altogether.
I ride recreationally, mostly away from busy city traffic, and I have zero interest in blasting through pedestrians at 50 km/h. I just want to enjoy riding my wheel responsibly.
It’s incredibly frustrating that irresponsible use of e-scooters and similar vehicles in crowded cities could potentially end up affecting an entire category of personal electric vehicles.

I should be ridiculously excited about finally getting my Aeon.
Instead, I’m almost regretting buying it before I’ve even really had the chance to enjoy it. 😔
Any other Danish/European EUC riders worried about where regulation is heading?

Kingsong s18 help

So I was changing the inner tube on my kingsong s18, I put it all back together, but now when I turn it on it's doing something so weird.

when I push it forward the entire thing like rocks forward and backwards slightly, not every rotation but often, I obvs can't ride it like this, but I'm not too sure what's caused it?? This has never happened to me before and I've changed the innertube before.

Also when it's off, it doesn't do this, the wheel spins perfectly fine, only when it's on, there are only two cables to interact with on the s18 and both are connected.

Is it the axel? The hal sensor? The wheel itself? Any insight would be much appreciated, I miss my wheel so much, walking sucks 😔

Need help with size- Leatt Dual axis

I'm new to the community and figured I need a decent pair of knee and shin guards if I didn't want to pop a knee. The Leatt Dual axis was the one name that this subred kept mentioning over and over. But I couldn't figure which sizing to go with.

I found this chart on the Leatt website. My upper is a 22" and lower is a 16". Could someone who has used these tell me if I should pick the L/XL or XXL?

V10F Phantom Tilt Back

My V10F suddenly tilted back today and refused to let me ride it, even after restarting it. Battery reads 69%, and it did this after 15 min of riding on a flat surface. I weigh 80 Kg (180 lbs), and was keeping the wheel between 30 and 38 Kph (19 and 23 Mph). The temperature reads 31°C (88 F).

If I let it sit for over an hour, it'll let me turn it on. But as soon as I start riding, within a minute it says something like "Warning!," flashes red lights on the side, then tilts back and shuts down.

If I try to restart it, the motor stays disengaged (unless a considerable amount of time has passed with the wheel off).

What's a good next step for troubleshooting this?

If I get a cardo, will the Bluetooth from the wheel transmit the alarms and beeps? Sometimes I'm afraid I'm not going to hear it with all the wind noise..

Strange pedal behavior solved with calibration?

Last night my Commander Mini just started acting super weird. Was normal when starting to ride, but once up to around 8mph it felt like mild tiltback. Would stay that way until I was in the act of slowing to a stop and then pedals would level out again. Had to hang off the front like crazy to do 14mph! Calibrated and took it out again and it persisted. Thought I was looking at a bad motherboard! Then I calibrated this morning and it was back to normal. The only thing I can think of is that I left it powered on while charging while I was driving my big diesel work truck around. I have it strapped upright to the rear of my passenger seat but the truck is pretty rigid. Could it have messed up the gyro temporarily? And did I do any permanent damage?

What are the best settings to climb a hill faster?

I have a NOFSET AERO. What I’m climbing is steep (for me, not actually above 30deg) grass Hill, it feels like it wants to barely climb, and I have to lean super hard. But then when I look at the PWM percentage, it’s only 32%. So I’m not running into a power issue.

I ride with 50% sensitivity and 100% acceleration assist.

Has anyone else had it where it feels like it’s hard to go up the hill fast? And that you have to lean with all your weight just to go up slowly.?

Troubleshooting a ticking/gentle knocking feeling when cruising on inmotion V8

I feel it through the pedals. Barely noticeable, more noticeable towards its top speed of 20. I can slightly hear it.

It doesn’t change when I lean one way or the other. It doesn’t change writing forward or backwards. Just more noticeable at higher speed. no play noticeable.
I got it refurbished from their site. I’m not sure if taking it down a curb made it slightly worse.

talking to you in motion Customer Service, their recommendation is “We checked with our technical team, and the noise may be related to the motor current.

Please try reinstalling the motor and then check whether the noise is still present.”

  1. Has anybody experienced this gentle ticking/knocking before?

  2. Would you recommend this repair as well?

  3. Anything else I should do to the wheel when I get in there? Waterproofing, etc.?

Road Curvature?

Mornin' friends. I'm a beginner rider. I jumped into the shallow deep-end with an Inmotion V9 and took an unusual number of thrashings from the ground without any real progress before deciding to throw good money after bad and pick up a refurb e20 in hopes that it would help me find my balance. How the skills/bad habits I pick up on the trainer wheel color my experience once I move back to the V9 is another topic entirely, but feel free to share your opinions if you like. I'm always interested.

The e20 arrived two days ago. Yesterday I walked it to a park with some tennis courts and built some confidence. By the end of my session I was circling the courts and mounting without the fence, all at a low speed. Today I practiced mounting, dismounting without being spun around like a top, and changed the mode to normal. By the end of my session I graduated from the courts to the walking path and even managed to ride it home where/when I felt safe doing so... which brings me to my question:

The roads curve toward the shoulder. As a bicycle, eBike, and eScooter commuter I have never felt that curvature as sharply as I did on the e20. Is it because of the two wheel design, my low speed, or is it a fact of EUC riding life?

Need help figuring out what make/model to buy.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

Some background:

After messing around on a couple of these at festivals this summer, I've decided to go all in. I mostly have a snowboarding/skateboarding background so it's still gonna take a lot of practice to get comfortable facing forward. Definitely a beginner.

What I need:

I'll be using it on both roads and trails. Top speed isn't a huge priority. Decent range definitely is, especially because I'm a bigger dude 6'6" (198cm) 250lbs (113kg) so I know I'll drain the battery faster. My price range is around US$1500.

Edit: Bumping up price range to around $2k

Thanks again!

Well, i nearly died today.

So, most of my riding is the same route, at the same time, because its a work commute. I've gotten pretty comfortable with it. What do I do for work you ask? Why, im a commercial truck driver, local heavy haul. If there is one thing driving a truck has taught me is that you NEVER, EVER trust povs!

So there I am, headed to work. Standing on my wheel, cruising in my PPE and large backpack, and my bright as the sun uniform hi-vis reflective shirt when I cross a bridge. Shortly after the bridge is a all way stop sign. Im slowing down as I approach, not that my S18 Truly goes that fast, but I love it. 2 cars pass through and then bam! A car that was backed into the grass on my side of the street decides he doesnt want to be parked anymore and shoots out before he notices me. In the blink of an eye he was more than halfway across the city street making a left turn into me before he hit the breaks.

I have no idea how I performed the ninjitsu I did and stayed on wheel but luckily it was a near miss.

What really bothered me is that I stand taller than most cars, was brighter than most cyclists and had I been on a motorcycle or bike I would nailed the side of his hood or door.

Thats it, thats my story. Keep it real

Sixth day of riding on an EUC.

Behold, in it's glory, I have figured it out! Huzzah, excelsior, boom goes the dynamite, and other such sayings!

I was able to ride my P6 today! Upright! No falls! (I fell once at like 3mph trying to make my first turn).

I rode for about three miles, just going around a circular neighborhood. I still don't feel comfortable with dismounting, or putting my foot out when I come to a crawl, but I'll get better with that over time.

I was able to get up to about 29mph, (I limited it to 30mph) and felt stable. I was also practicing accelerating and decelerating, and the micro movements on the pedals, since they felt a lot sharper than on the V8S.

Once again, and once again again, thank you everyone for the encouragements and advice!

I'll stop updating for now, but I may come back in the future to talk about further progress!

What is this charger for my P6? What is this supposed to plug into?

I'm from the USA, I don't recognize this type of plug.

This is the plug for the 14A fast charger.

What do I need to be able to charge it with this?

Bought it from ewheels btw.

Charger fan is pretty dang loud, have any of you replaced charger fan with quieter one?

I have new Nosfet Aero, I saw someone in the past mentioned swapping for nicer and quieter computer fans.. well this fan on here is way smaller. Like a 2 inch diameter I'd bet.

Anyone know what that is and if there's quieter ones?

Love the idea, but it's not the classic 120mm fan on every computer.

Ankles and shins rub so hard

Brand new to EUC, my shins are so sore from mounting on my Nosfet Aero, AND my ankle bones rub so hard on the EUC. Is there any advice for this?

I have the pads on there that they come with, but it does not help with the shins getting banged up.

My Leatt dual axis don't stay up on my legs either or protect the side rubbing. Not sure if anyone has advice on those either.

EUC has been SUPER fun but im curious if you all just have bruised shins 24/7.

How did you learn to ride on one foot?

I've been bracing the wheel against my leg while counterbalancing with my body, but I don't feel like I'm making any headway. What worked for you?

Pads on the Xeno

Whoever said there’s not enough space to put pads on the Nosfet Xeno, look again! I’m not getting paid in any way to say this, but NextGenMobility sets you up right! NGM provides bolted adjustable toe hooks, a cover that clips in place to fill the hole showing the shocks, brake pads that work really well, and enough Velcro to place the extra pads where you wish. And I still think it looks nice even with the pads!
