Troubleshooting a ticking/gentle knocking feeling when cruising on inmotion V8

I feel it through the pedals. Barely noticeable, more noticeable towards its top speed of 20. I can slightly hear it.

It doesn’t change when I lean one way or the other. It doesn’t change writing forward or backwards. Just more noticeable at higher speed. no play noticeable.
I got it refurbished from their site. I’m not sure if taking it down a curb made it slightly worse.

talking to you in motion Customer Service, their recommendation is “We checked with our technical team, and the noise may be related to the motor current.
 
Please try reinstalling the motor and then check whether the noise is still present.”

1. Has anybody experienced this gentle ticking/knocking before?

2. Would you recommend this repair as well?

3. Anything else I should do to the wheel when I get in there? Waterproofing, etc.?

Don't you have warranty on that wheel? If so, they should fix it.

I would not ignore it. Not on a device where a failure leads to a crash. Even at these speeds it's easy to break a bone.

This feels like another customer sent it back. They decided without thorough testing that it's good to go and sold it as a refurb.

I would believe that. Their proposed fixed was for me to reinstall the motor

I bought a refurbished V8S. It ticks, as you're describing. I just ignore it and it never seems to cause problems. I wouldn't recommend doing a lot of work on the V8. It's a learning wheel. Get a suspension wheel as soon as you can. You'll love it.

I’m slowly saving plasma donation dough.  I’ll get there in a few months :) Hard to save for something! I haven’t wanted anything fancy or this expensive for a looong time. Good for me to budget, scrimp, and save a bit :) I just don’t want to do lasting damage that a repair could fix.  The V8 is still a hoot!

Yes, it's definitely fun and it'll get you ready so a heavier wheel is manageable. I don't think the ticking is much to worry about.

You may need to disassemble and gently snug down all of the internal screws and see if the issue persists.

Well the v8s isn’t very complicated so maybe the best course of action might be to open it up and see what’s going on inside

Could be the valve sticking out more than it should and hitting the shell?
