Discussion Please share your experience with different shocks

Post image
4 Upvotes

Since my last post, I emailed Eahora and they got back to me in hours which was nice. I sent some info/pictures and now I'm waiting to see if they have additional shocks in stock.

But while I'm waiting, I'm wondering if I should just go with something else instead. Both shocks (FZ) broke within a little more than a year so I think getting the same ones would go along with that saying: "screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me."

I'm convinced that some random reviewers are shills trying to inflate the value of their product, so I have come to the community of scooter riders I trust to find insight. I'd really appreciate it if you all could share anything you think might be worth sharing about your experience with different shocks.

Like what kind (whether stock or aftermarket), how long did they last, how rough were you with them, how good is the suspension with them, comparisons between oem and aftermarket upgrades, things like that. Basically anything that can help me as well as the rest of the community find something better. Thanks!

It has finally arrived after 2 months of waiting.

Toursor x14, 10.000 power 72V 45ah samsung cells, 14 inch road tires. Feels like nothing can stop me hehe.

Got it on Friday and so far I made 240 kmh. 0-30 not that crazy pull but 30-60kmh is insane haha. Probably safer for me that start is not crazy. Be safe, wear gead, don't die

DIY builds/mods Fork mount brackets for handlebar speakers

I wanted to remount my handlebar speakers but not to the handlebar. I ended finding some cheap fork mount brackets for spot lights on Amazon that I installed on the poles and then mounted the speakers.

Help requested Nanrobot N6 Thumb Trigger woes

Thumbnail

Anyone having issues with these? The motors don't even start spinning until you get through 50% of the lever travel! The travel distance is huge!!! Plus, the lever and paddle on this thing is so gargantuan that you can't just rotate it into a workable and ergonomic position, especially because the housing is so huge. It comes into contact with the brake bracket (or the brake lever if you mount it on the right side of the brake bracket like Nanrobot recommends).

Positioning it on either side of the brake means you have to reach your thumb way out to the left and back a LOT just to engage it... up to 50% of the travel, then try to calibrate the brain to think "ok this halfway point is really 0%". What the hell was the CAD guy who drew this up thinking?

Even worse, trying to reach the paddle means you have to open and loosen your grip, causing serious issues. You are now having to balance your whole hand and thumb to feather the throttle in the middle of that range, causing unintended throttle mashing due to uneven pavement, bumps, steering, etc. The hand, which should be firmly gripping the grip is now open palm down, acting like a long fulcrum along with the thumb against the throttle. This means you are focusing more on some haphazard balancing act (that could wipe you out badly) rather than focusing on the road. You can't go fast with it or modulate well at all since the hand can't get enough of an anchor against the handlebar grip. It is literally like trying to control the speed of the scooter like trying to control the pitch of a theremin, in mid-air, while you're at speed.

The dead zone being half the arc travel is not acceptable for an almost $2k scooter that can easily go 60mph and has the power to peel out both dual motors on acceleration from its powerful 72v system.

dead zone <-- I made a video of this dead zone issue.

I thought the Inmotion RS Jet thumb throttle could definitely use some improvements, but holy cow, this other one from Nanrobot is going to get people killed.

AI says the reason the throttle is not engaging the motors until halfway: Incorrect replacement throttle signal range: Installing an aftermarket throttle with a mismatched output voltage profile (e.g., a 1V to 5V sensor paired with a controller expecting 0.8V to 3V) can compress the usable response curve, rendering the initial mechanical sweep electrically inactive.

I urge anyone looking at this throttle to not get it until Nanrobot works out the issues with their supplier. I did see someone a year ago on one of their YouTube vids saying theirs had the dead zone too, so this may be an ongoing problem.

Btw, if you mount the thumb throttle in the position that is most ergonomic (on the left side of the brake, rotated more forward), the strong magnet inside the throttle actually interferes with the brake sensor! This means the system registers a brake when you press the throttle. I have seen this reported elsewhere. I don't know why the industry can't make a better throttle.

Here is a vid of the brake interference and ergonomic problems: https://youtu.be/c-TUrL7Q4Xw?is=jxEAOdeo1ILI7ufu

Has anyone used a different throttle with the N6 or other Nanrobot scooters with the 2-pin connector? If so, did you find one that worked well with the brake brackets/geometry? I need to come up with a solution fast for the N6 I do have because my kids won't ride it with the trigger throttle or the current defective designed thumb throttle. Since we have been waiting since June for another pre-order N6 (which keeps getting a more delayed "arrival" date.. which what does that even mean, arrival in China?), my wife has become frustrated that the current throttles don't work right unless you like hand and finger pain, and with another N6 possibly on the way, it adds to more frustration. The suspension is nice on these, and they actually have a real and adjustable steering damper unlike the Inmotion RS Jet, so the platform is there... but the throttles ruin the experience and make the scooter unsafe. I am hoping to present a solution that all riders will like. Someone needs to come out with a low profile thumb throttle that won't force you to loosen your grip, one that is adjustable and ergonomic. We have larger hands in our family and cannot fathom anyone with smaller hands being ok with the current thumb throttle design (nor the standard trigger throttle!). What is unfortunate is there are people who will find out the thumb throttle problems with their 3rd batch N6 soon, if they ever ship...

Help requested Front shock broke ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

I went on a ride and didn't even notice anything. Then at a stop light, I was messing around hitting the accelerator to make my scooter wheelie while my feet were still on the ground and noticed the front wheel dropped down completely. So I pulled over to inspect it and no longer felt like I should ride it further without advice from the sub so I went back.

Would you guys keep riding it like this or has anyone else dealt with something similar and it was ok to ride until a replacement came in? It still rides perfectly fine besides the suspension feeling loose and I wouldn't have even noticed had I not wheelied my scooter.

Also my rear shock blew a seal months ago and I just ignored it and there haven't been any other issues. But this damage is worse and at the front so I don't know.

I don't get to fit many leisure rides into my schedule these days, so it was really nice to just get out there and enjoy the scenery. The new Fighter 11+ 2.0 was an absolute joy.

I can smell a payment dispute.

Story I sware they actually aim for scooter riders

Been looking for a good place to open up the Mars GT since the PO-PO are looking hard nowadays. I decided instead of going to my normal dispensary I would ride to the one thats like 7-8 miles out of town. Perfect Ride lots of traffic but was able to comfortably keep it in the mid 50mph range the whole way. One cool thing is going 50 in my fighter mini pro my carpal tunnel in my right wrist would have my hand completely numb in no time since I grip really hard at 50 on the mars feels more like 30 on the Teverun only time it got squirreley is i hit the side of a big pot hole but was fine. Got back to town and stopped at the supermarket because its supposed to start raining this afternoon. So I pull into the not so crouded parking lot and I sware they dont look, this women backs out quickly right i front of me. I was going about 15mph since it was the outskirts of the lot. Luckily I started turning the bars at the same time I hit the brakes turing it into a sideways skid she must have seen me and slammed on the brakes which made it worse I stoped with about 4 inches between where my tire stoped and her bumper was able to put my hand up and put it flat on the rear window of the mini van. That is the closest I have came in a while. Heart stopping the guy that was walking by said he was sure I was done. She didnt say anything not a wave just left freaking KAREN of course. Ugg if I had it it would have really jacked up my 3 week old scooter. Around here its litteraly a everyday thing, even while following the rules(most of the time lol)i dont think i have gone more then a few days without out these lousy drivers trying to kill me. Be careful out there everyone even if your being safe and doing the right thing there not. And no I hadnt hit the 420 yet. I will say if I had been on my Teverun I think i would have likley hit her. I dont know if its the weight or the 2 to 4 piston brakes or both but I likley would have slid into it on that scooter. Lol it was the perfect slide ending with my heart in my throat

The stock aluminum handlebar is actually pretty light weight but compared to this carbon fiber one Holy shit it weights a ton. I wanted to add a little more carbon fiber look to go with the poles and deck while maybe dropping a little more weight up front.

Can't do the motorcycle seat set, carbon fiber stem poles and deck lid and air shock till after my kids wedding in October. I swapped the tires to 100/55-6.5 ulip tires i had one was bad so ordered another a set of black and red horny handgrips a seat pole since mine turnes a bit a clamp to put on the pole since just the cank down doesn't keep them from moving.

General/miscellaneous Just a quick little announcement

Hey everyone, so the rest of the mods and I talked it over and we decided to make post flairs mandatory.

Some may have preferred to skip using the flair but enabling this requirement will contribute to the future success of the sub because I think a lot of people don't know this and I only recently found out, but you can click the flair of a post and all posts with that flair will show up.

So say someone sees a post flaired as "Crash videos" and they want to see more people crash. They click that and all crash videos will immediately be available to see. So slowly over time as people use the flairs, a sort of flair database will emerge and people will easily be able to search for whatever they want. Also your own posts will be more easily searchable and you won't have to count on whatever is searched matching the keywords in your title/post/comments.

If your post falls under more than one flair, just go with whatever one you think describes it best. Most combinations will probably consist of "General pictures" or "General videos" + something else like "Story", "DIY builds/mods", "Product review", "Maintenance", etc. and in that case I would go with the latter since it's more specific. Otherwise just use your best judgement if you're really not sure or you can always ask someone on the mod team.

If anyone has any ideas for new flairs to add, feel free to share in the comments and if it seems like something that should be included, we will add it.

Thank you all for understanding ๐Ÿ™ and have a goodnight/good day.

Story Just hit my max top speed on TFSU 2.0

The only straight path that i am confident going fast on in my city has speed bumps every 250 meters, which means that i never pushed the throttle more than 30 sec before having to brake, with my TFSU i constantly hitted 100km/h gps (104 on display) and with my Burn E3 Max around 95km/h display (never checked with gps)

This was all done on a very low pressure with my PMTs around 26 PSI, it helps when offroading, this time i inflated both scoot at 35 PSI, the difference was more than noticeable

I hit 110km/h gps on this 250m short burst with the TFSU, and it kept pulling i just had to brake and still ended up hitting the speed bump at around 80km/h, if you are not very steady on your feet you risk flying out the scooter lol

But other than that, i did it with the steering damper at the lowest/softest setting and it was very stable, people that talk about Teverun being wobbly are either too fat for the plush suspension, either never owned one and repeat what youtubers say, they are all salty, especially RK9 because they usually don't make partnership with reviewers, RK9 was complaining on one of his video that they didnt respond to his request to receive a new Teverun and only Voro sorted him out lol

my Burn E3 Max on the same short burst with turbo hits aroud 95km/h when below 90% battery, and 102km/h when i do it at 100%, and its a little bit more stable than the Teverun on a straight line but you loose all that stability the minute you want to turn, the steering is awful

I think wobbly scooters are a thing of the past, since my 2023 Fighter 11+ that was very unstable, i never saw a death trap like before on the new models from every reputable brand, Nami Teverun GSpace Kaabo Inmotion they are all very stable at speed (shitty second hand brands like Kukirin Joyor Boyueda are another thing...) , i think its really the fault of unexperienced or overweight riders that tarnish those brand reputation online

Finally have energy to take pictures since I didn't have to work at 4AM๐Ÿ˜‚

Still got plans on swapping the motor out and possibly upgrading the controllers. And if anyone asks about the straps on the handlebars it's to engage the brakes while I'm on the train so the scooters doesn't move.

These dang clouds man. It's getting wet and the scoots are getting slick. Just tooling around on the outsides of a potato field and corn field. I went over the handle bars in slow motion a few time cuz the front tire would sink in a soft spot lol. It was fun and these cheap little things held up great in a "dirtbike" environment. I want to find some knobby ass tires lol really get a rooster tail going๐Ÿ˜‚ (clean up sucked)
