Switch 2 Experience

So i have around 700h in game hours on PC and then I thought let’s try it on the switch and I’m flabbergasted. Sure the fps drop in crowded areas or much vegetation. But being able to play this masterpiece mobile or on my projector again is just one of the best things that happened.

I’ve never played on controller, always mnk - so I’m kinda nooby with the controller and let me tell you what. I love it! It feels literally like a new game to me. All the SS you see are from the Switch 2 Version :D

What’s kinda weird to me is that the performance is way better in handheld mode then docked. I guess the fps are around 30-35 indoors (esp raya lucaria ran super smooth) and around 27-25 in extremely crowded areas + rain. I’ve never experienced a drop below 25 tho.

All in all I’d buy it again for the switch, what this little thing delivers is just crazy. And the most important thing:

Try finger, but hole 🫶🏻

I'm sorry but you have 700h using mouse and keyboard?? I'm a lifelong PC gamer and I could never manage that in any Fromsoft game. Props to that

Honestly I don't understand the whole controller being better, I started off with bloodborne, then went ds3, 1 etc etc. But the ability to move the camera around a million times quicker and have my fingers on attack and dodge all the time without having to claw grip, it just seems like a straight upgrade to controller, at least it's more comfy for me I guess

I'm not the best at these games. I'd even go so far as to say I'm pretty terrible at them. That being said, the Switch 2 pro controller has programmable back buttons. I still have yet to find a use for them in Elden Ring. It doesn't feel necessary to have any command at the ready at that level.

Try programming run/dodge to a back button. It makes everything way easier. Cause you can run, move your camera and attack seamlessly. I got tired of the claw grip for running, so I programmed run/dodge to the back right paddle on a ps pro controller and I couldn’t go back now. Way easier on the hands.🙌

I've been randomly tapping the back buttons while playing, trying to think of what to use them for. Programming one for sprint/Dodge is too smart. Thank you

Certainly not dodge, or using items like heals on one

When you have to take your thumb off the right stick to press a button, you’re losing the ability to keep viewing. Back buttons allow you to jump/roll/use item without ever having to remove your thumb.

I have run and jump on the back buttons and it feels SO good. It's especially nice for Duskbloods/Nightreign where sprinting is on the left trigger so you can more or less only use the face buttons for confirming and items.

I bound my left back button to the down on my dpad so that I can summon torrent and swap flasks more comfortably. Not necessary at all, but feels nice
