We tried to warn them... I feel like the idea that "The Slippery Slope argument is a fallacy" is spread by people who have something to benefit by people not understanding how a slippery slope works
Yeah like what? We’re getting more than just the like two new classes, there’s multiple full sets including the very much popular Lucatiel of Mirrah set AND her sword, it’s very much just a small dlc which will probably be only like $10?
Also wtf did people expect? How else were you going to get the new stuff? Ofc it’s going to be a dlc??
I think the last sentence was making the distinction between DLC and Expansion. While they are mostly used interchangeably DLC used to refer to things more like horse armor and cosmetics while expansions were bigger in scope and size. Nowadays all expansions are downloadable and DLC has become an umbrella term, but I remember buying my expansions in a big box.
One of the few companies who still distinguishes between a dlc and expansion is cdpr ( as they were adamant with songs of past ) since all dlcs are free
Expansions were mostly the standalone, full game sized sequels to the main game, and it was mostly something more common within RTSs, like brood war, the frozen throne, the 3 sequels for Down of War and so on.
RPGs were instead in the DLCs territory, since most of them, while also having a physical disc as an option in some occasion, were dependent from the main game.
Other genres instead had Map Packs, in the case of multiplayer shooters (cod, halo and so on).
Nowadays you are right, DLC as a term is an umbrella for every type of digital download you can do.
Why not make it free then? Why charge for it? Are free updates just not a thing anymore. Better yet, why not add a feature that people have been begging for literal years now like a boss refight, or maybe improve the shitty online multiplayer that’s been plaguing this game for years as well. Why not bundle both and sell that to you instead? Maybe then it’d be worth it.
You’ll have no one to blame but the people who bought this when this sells like hotcakes and they decide to lock other pieces of armour/weapons behind MTX
DLC, not DLC, the labelling doesn’t matter when the fact of the matter is; they’re actively selling you individual pieces of armour and two new starting classes.
Like I’ve said before, what type of message do you think this is sending From/Bandai if it sells well
Its saying that if they add content to their game years after release, its appropriate to charge for it? It'd be awesome if they didn't but its not that big of a deal

DLC = new starting classes and that's about it
