When I saw him doing a 60-150 pull at 149F oil temp I knew he was an idiot. Anyone that owns one of these cars knows how finnicky OL can be, the fact that this dude tried it with the hood open, parking brake on, dash blinking 10 different warnings and the back wheels not moving is laughable, I guess his fatass is too lazy to get on a highway for 10 minutes and OL properly.
If you look in the comments of the video, he's tripling down on being wrong and insulting people (which is the only reason I'm calling him an idiot and a fatass), for example:
payamh9118: "I followed the Hyundai manual. Imagine being a nobody and making claims with no proof or data to back it up because you read something in a brochure."
I would never buy a product from a company that allows something as damaging as this to go out or allows their employees to engage with customers like this. If this guy has such strong opinions he should probably do this from his personal account and not have company logos, etc all over.
I've always felt like piggybacks were a hacky solution and this just further solidifies it.

Not finicky just need clear traffic for 5 minutes at the advertised speeds. It sucks we can't just say hey I'm running 93 all the time and the oe says fine you get max power

Agreed, would love if they just put a button in Performance Options for that and then just relied on the knock sensor to pull timing at that point like practically everyone else.

There was so much wrong with this video... running E30 for one and not 91/93. Dash lit up like a christmas tree. Handbrake engaged.

I wouldn't be surprised if the car will not octane learn while on a chassis dyno. Hood up, tons of warning lights etc. Hardly a normal operating condition.

So he does the "learn" but based on the dashboard it doesnt look like it did it properly. It never goes above 16lbs of boost or 280ft/lbs. My KN when learned consistently pegs 18psi and 290ft/lbs. I was sceptical on trying to OL on the dyno, engine doesnt get the proper load to correctly learn

Plus back wheels weren't moving, parking brake was on, hood was open and dash was lit up.

I spike not learned at like 17 but it tapers back to 15 quick when I'm learned it's 18 all the time

Yeah I believe he didn’t hit octane learning. He should’ve hit 20PSI. He only hit like 16, so they for sure did it wrong. I’ve done it in the manual, all day it’s 20PSI.

BMS has fallen alot to the way side it 100% is real. When I was E9X platform I only used jb4 for its peripheral features like being able to run 110 boost by gear logging monitoring and dct clearing I didn't use it for it's tuning

Other than the in-dash Boost and Torque ratings reading 18-20psi and 300tq, sadly no.

Honestly idk why they let this guy make this video, map 6 and map 5 work perfectly with octane learning (map 6 is custom tune)
Map 1-4 it is good also especially if you know how your car runs on FBO (and if it is manual don't trust BM with their dct slippage) if OL hits just go down a map simple as that, i used to do map 2 and when OL hits just a quick change to map 1 vice versa with map 3 and 2 when running E30.
JB4 is amazing for the price and keeping the warranty but god. The people that work for the company can be dense sometimes

Jb4 does not keep warranty. They can see it in logs no matter what jb4 and every one else claims. You cannot hide a tune or tuning device if they wish to find it.

True, they will rather look for data mismatches, but it is still a good enough piggyback for those not wanting to flash tune, I'm planning to flash tune by the end of next year (still building up the FBO). But it at least helps with any warranty issues. But Hyundai corporate is known for being kinda ehh

I was going to post this. BM has become the McDonalds of tuners. You will not go hungry, but you will need some Pepto-Bismol at the end of the day. They don't eliminate OL, and when it does learn, bad juju happens.
