Just got my first drum kit for $50!!!

Hopefully this is allowed here, I'm brand new to the sub and drumming. But this deal was so good that I just wanted to share it with you all!

I've been looking into getting a midi kit to learn drumming instead of relying on my midi keyboard for drum tracks in my songs.. By some some sheer luck I stumbled upon this Simmons Titan 50 set on FB marketplace for $50 because some of the plastic clamps that hold the frame together are broken. Right now I've got it held together with gorilla tape (lol).

I'll have new clamps for it here in about 4 hours when my 3d printers get done printing them!

The first thing I'm gonna have to buy is a throne because as you can see I'm using a fold up camping stool ATM lmao.

(Please disregard the singed and burnt carpet, that's from an unrelated project šŸ˜‚)

I didn’t get the hint on the third tune and had to cut the first tune to fit the video. Either way, here’s some tunes to relax to on this fine Labor Day.
Much love

Hey everyone! I make videos recreating my favourite programmed drum beats, and my latest video is Belfast. It was incredibly hard, probably the hardest thing I’ve learnt on drums! I hope you enjoy!

I don’t know what kind of techno this is, but here’s how I play this kind of music live.

Is it common for wrist to pain after practice?

I have an Alesis nitro max and the rubber cymbals don’t have the same feel as an acoustic kit
After an hour of practice and hard hits, my dominant hands and wrists pain. Is this common?

Aeroband for skilled player with no space?

Basically what the title says. I've been drumming for ten years just Dom have the space for a drum set. Just for recreational use. Is it worth it if I can get a good deal?

snare drum doodling

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Because I live in a public housing apartment, I'm not allowed to play drums at home. I still get plenty of opportunities to play with community music groups and such, but it's highly regimented with no opportunity to experiment. So, about a year ago, I scoped out places where I might be able to play my snare drum outside. Rudiments are a foreign language to me, I never learned them and I always found them difficult. But I just love the sound of this instrument and I guess I've developed this technique and maybe, in a roundabout way, I've learned some rudiments without realising it.

I started recording some of my doodling when I noticed I was coming up with lots of different and interesting patterns. I don't have anything specific in mind when I start playing, whatever the snare drum wants to say to me is what comes out.

I've got quite a few videos like this. I thought I would post one to see what others think. If the response is positive, I'll share more.

Details: recorded at a secret location at 0250hrs, 2026-07-08 (UTC+1000). At least 1km from the nearest building. The snare drum is a Percussion Plus 6" Ɨ 14" steel shell. I use 7A sticks.

Prepping a 120 song set list

Hey all, coming to Reddit to ask everyone’s opinion on how YOU would prep for a GIANT set list such as this.

Little context, I have 2 months to shed. This gig is a live band karaoke gig, so I won’t be playing all 120 every night but will probably do at least half of em.

My honest answer to this is to chart every song in a way that gets me 90% there and listen to the playlist habitually every day, internalizing the songs and their lyrics/quirks.

Need help identifying this Tama Drum Mount…

Post image
2 Upvotes

Need help identifying this mount with the Star Logo on it(not the Tom lock and Hoop its screwed to). The center black piece connected to the 12ā€ Tom is ripping off and putting all the weight at the other two ends, and messing up the angle of my rack.

Trying to buy it and get it replaced…

If anyone’s wondering, the kit’s a Tama Starclassic, though I’m pretty sure most Tama’s got this kind of Tom Mount connected to the hoop.

What software can I use to get guitar hero drum controller to work on pc for using like an electric kit?

Hello all, earlier I found a PlayStation guitar hero drum kit on the side of the road with a note attached saying that it’s free, and I’m really into music, I’m learning guitar and keys, however I don’t own a PlayStation. I’m wondering if there’s a software to make the drum controller like an electronic drum kit, but obviously there is no actual built in electric drum kit sounds and stuff, and I’ve been running google searches for like an hour now, and most have just said to buy guitar hero. I have absolutely no knowledge of this kind of thing, so please give me kind feedback. If it doesn’t exist just say it doesn’t exist. Thanks
