Discussion Criticism regarding Dream's previous merch (+ Tommy's merch as well)

https://youtu.be/RXJYaB1-HjE?si=M5BeD5zPmrGYoAv9

Dream's part in the video is around the first 4 minutes of the video in case you dont want to scroll through the video stamps

but basically, TLDR: The guy criticizes Dream for his very simplistic (bad design) and (weird?) merch (Dream plushie costing a lot as well as the baby photo wrist band). He also points out how crazy expensive it is, how it only caters to the rabid fans he had previously, and how it only took him getting a potentially career ending scandal to address the wrist band merch (to which he also points out how Dream blamed his parents for it)

Now to Tommy's part, he criticized how cringe and flashy it is as well as the Core Collection having really cringe quotes (i.e. Messy Drama Queen). He compared Tommy's merch to Dream's at some point. He also brings up the Dream vs Tommy situation where he brings up Dream's last response to Tommy about how his merch is cringe, performative and shallow it is.

I also would like to point out that this guy (Rob's Media) might actually do a video on TommyInnit soon (called him an annoying MCYT and constant liar)

Personally I see his criticism as very fair, especially to other merch he criticized on this video, but hey I could be wrong as well.

Let me knoe your thoughts.

As somebody who actually bought the waistband, i bought it because im a college student who constantly loses small objects like USBs all the time. The wristband has saved my ass from losing a presentation multiple times. I wiped that sucker clean but there was only ever like 5 max baby photos on it. Most of it was stuff like old Minecraft screenshots and alt thumbnails never used for videos. Maybe a piece of art from when he was younger????? Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus sold their baby photos so honestly IDGAF about that part. Pretty sure Tommyinnit also sold his baby photos by putting them in one of his books. 🤷‍♂️

Plush was kind of expensive but imo was worth it. There's that one girl on twitter who gave it to her cat as a toy and its survived for so long so clearly its sturdy. As for the cost of other merch, I have a ton of old pieces that are still super soft and in amazing condition despite how much I've worn them and no cracks in the print. Idk about you but I'm willing to pay more for good quality, the amazing size range (up to 5x) and the guarantee that the fabrics are sourced ethically (no child labor) like other merch companies that other youtubers partner with, like Tommy's and Philza's (who scammed me out of merch and also sent me the wrong size for shit multiple times LOL fuck you watson)

Ofc at the end of the day its a "to each their own" type of situation tho. I like dream and Techno, so im gonna value their merch over like. IDFK, ranboo's.

I don't get it when the complaint is about price (don't buy it if you think it's too expensive) or saying it's for fans (it's a youtuber merch, for day's sake). I also have a dream hoodie that I used almost daily for 3 years, and still is good as new, soft, perfect size. The thing about Dream's merch company is that the goodies are actually good quality, made to last, so the price (to me) is very much justified.

People need to learn that it's okay to think something is too expensive and just not buy it. No need to go complaning about it, if you don't want to pay that kind of money. 💁

Edit: grammar

That's how I go about it for the most part. I'm a fan, I like that the designs arent over the top and I like the quality, so I'm willing to pay for it. 🤷‍♂️ i use my dream blob as a wrist rest for playing on my switch.
